Southern Ski Club for the Disabled Whether the skier is blind, deaf, paraplegic has MS or special learning needs, SSCD can provide an adaptive means that makes it possible to ski!

Skiing with SSCD
Skiing is an opportunity to develop the self confidence that comes with the shared experience of participating in a sport. Based on 30 years of helping people with disabilities The Southern Ski Club for the Disabled is here to help them learn and enjoy skiing. Skiing is for Everyone
Whether the skier is blind, paraplegic has MS or special learning needs… SSCD can provide an adaptive means that makes it possible to give skiers a sense of achievement along with independence and self-confidence. Come and Join Us
More and more people with a disability come to SSCD’s monthly ski sessions. To ensure that we can provide everyone with the attention and help they require, we are constantly looking for volunteers.And even if you can come along only once a year, there are plenty of significant jobs you can help with that need no training. If nothing else you’ll have a good time…. because both our skiers and guides are there not only to ski but to have FUN! So why not come along to one of our sessions and see for yourself what it’s all about? To find out about the times of sessions contact us.

As Day 1 is nearly coming to the end, we have had an amazing day with the host team participants.

We also have had the pleasure of meeting Maddy Hopson, a Snowsport Racer in the making here at Plymouth Slope. Thank you for the demo and tips for the participants. It's a great opportunity to hear from the experts using specialised equipment for their ski needs.

Day 2 Guide Grade 3 Training;

Today's all about the Skier and their complex needs , ranging from Sensory to Learning Difficulties to support their progress whilst Skiing.
This weekend we have the pleasure of Matt P, a special young man participating in the G3 Course alongside his dad and sister. What an achievement.

Matt P, has his own complex needs and is a wheelchair user. Enjoying it thoroughly so far.
