Good evening last night for the Black Widows MCC at The C**k Inn

We were delighted to receive Dr Sylvie Edwards, the Grand Prior of the Order of St George, who we have a Memorandum of Understanding with and have members within its ranks, and share its core values and objectives.

This is a Chivalry Order, celebrating 700 years of existence this year.

The work it does throughout the world is astounding.

The commitment and different walks of life of the people that make up its ranks is breathtaking.

We also had the opportunity of meeting Lt Col (Ret,d)Johnny Longbottom MBE,QVRM,VR who shared our event and sat in on the structured part of our meeting, as well as sharing memories and giving a great insight to the work that the Order of St George do and also the work that Johnny does within Parliament.

We were very pleased to spend good quality time with some great people.

We feel very committed and excited to the future, working alongside each other.

Very pleased to report the progress of Anthony Johnson - AJRacing ,Chloe Gleeson #25 and Luke Foreman.

It's been a real pleasure watching them on their journey and supporting amazing riders, and we hope to continue that in the future.

Food was amazing, company was even better.

A good meeting, lots of good news and a great summer it appears has been had by all.

We look forward to the future and our focusing on our efforts for the Christmas toy run on Sunday the 13th of December.

1,200 Miles, 24 Hours, One Unforgettable Ride! 🏍️💨
Black Widow MCC Secretary Karl Hopper-Young just completed an epic whirlwind trip down to Montpellier and back!
The Journey Down:
* Started bright and early with the 8:24 AM Channel Tunnel train from Dover to Calais.
* From Calais, it was non-stop riding all the way down to Palavas-les-Flots, bypassing Paris on the way out for a super smooth, clean run.
* Arrived in Palavas at 8:30 PM, just in time for a quick shower and a light dinner after a long day in the saddle.
A Morning in France:
* Started Monday at 7:00 AM with a quick dip in the sea—just a 1-minute walk from the house! 🏊‍♂️
* Followed it up with a proper courtyard breakfast: croissant aux amandes, a ham & cheese salad with egg sandwich, and a pain au raisin and washed down with café au lait
* Met up with the builders at 2:00 PM to take care of business.
The Return Leg:
* Departed Palavas-les-Flots at 2:15 PM, taking a spectacular scenic route back through the mountainous countryside over the Pyrenees, crossing the iconic Millau Viaduct, and hitting Paris around 8:00 PM.
* Caught the 3:24 AM Channel Tunnel train early Tuesday morning (Sept 1st) to complete the return trip.
Final Stats & Notes:
* Total Distance: 1,200 miles covered in under 24 hours of riding time.
* Bike Status: The CVO Street Glide ST handled all weather conditions like a champion and is now officially ready for its first service!
* Item to Fix: The toll tag decided not to play nice during the trip—needs some investigation before the next run.
A truly amazing experience riding in all conditions. On to the next adventure! 🏁

Great news for Anthony Johnson - AJRacing
We at Black Widows MCC are very proud supporters

Cadwell Park Race Report 🏁 3 races, 3 wins!

Race 1 - We led from lights out. Tried to get my head down and into a rhythm straight away, hopefully building a gap I could maintain. Luckily for me, Kyle and Sam got into a bit of a scrap over the first few laps which let me pull a small gap. After a few laps I had a look behind, saw I had some time in hand, and let the pace off slightly to try and save the tyre for race 2 🏁

Race 2 - My favourite race of the weekend. Got the initial jump off the line and led the first lap before Kyle Jenkins came past - this turned into a proper game of cat and mouse. Kyle’s on a 765 and mine’s a 675 but the bikes are pretty evenly matched. We swapped the lead a few times as we both tried to work out where each of us was stronger around the track. I sat in behind and waited for the last few laps to make a move, which came at the Gooseneck. Once past, I tried to make a break - Kyle came back down the inside into Park but went in a bit too hot and couldn’t pull it down to the apex, so I turned back underneath on the exit. Getting to the bottom of the Mountain he ran into lapped traffic - I got past one rider, got a bike between us, then past a few more before the line to take P1. Gutted it didn’t go right down to the wire but it could have gone either way, to be fair. Top riding from Kyle - a really enjoyable race throughout 👊

Race 3 - Same set of tyres from Race 1, so I was hoping the rear would hang in for the race distance. Plan was to push from the start and see what we could do with the grip available. Got a good start, led into turn 1, and pushed on straight away. From about lap 2 the rear started spinning a lot on first touch of throttle, so I had to stay on line and not override the bike. After a few laps I checked over my shoulder and had about a second in hand. The bike was moving around a lot on the rear but felt good, so I kept the pace up and brought it home in P1 for the hat-trick! Really happy with that 🏆

Was also under the lap record for pretty much the whole race, on an old tyre! Even after all these years racing different bikes in different classes, it shows there’s always room for improvement - and how a small change in approach can really change the outcome.

A massive thank you to all my sponsors - none of this season would’ve been possible without you. You’re all incredible people and I can’t thank you enough 🙏

Next up is Snetterton in a couple of weeks - hopefully we’ll have a better time there this time around 🤞
