We've had some volunteer sessions cancelled recently as we had tree down at our HQ. Luckily no one was injured.
Yesterday we were able to hold our AGM & reflect on our work over the last year. We are very proud of our achievements & contribution towards making Hailsham a more pleasant place to live & visit by 'filling the town with flowers' as well as our maintenance work.

Today's session was spent tidying up at both HQ & the Dennis King Memorial Garden. This is a snap of some of our chaps having a post work cuppa & a laugh. Although primarily gardening is what we do, we have a range of experience, a mixture of skills & other roles within our team that support us to function as a charity. Several members of the team work extremely hard outside of the sessions to ensure we can fill the town with flowers. If you would like to help then we would love to hear from you!

Another volunteer session today that saw our team divided between HQ & The Dennis King Memorial Garden. However we all got together at the end for a welcome cup of tea. We are a friendly supportive group & volunteering is definitely much more than just gardening (although we like to do that too!) Next session Tuesday 10-12. This morning a group of our volunteers "attacked" the Library Garden. We had a breezy morning pruning the roses & weeding the beds & path. If you watch to the end you will see that we lost Chris in the roses. If found...please return to Environment Hailsham. Thank you! 🤣

Another workout for our volunteers this morning!💪We've been moving compost & spreading woodchip to suppress weeds at our HQ. Our plug plants arrive next week & we are now preparing the trays for planting. If you are interested in volunteering with us then this is a perfect time to come along & see our process from start to finish. Our sessions are Tuesdays & Fridays 10 am until noon.
