We meant to post about this sooner… but then it got sunny and we all got distracted by watering things and having holidays!! 🌞🌱

Exeter Seed Bank will be at Exeter Respect Festival with a Seedling & Plant Share Tent and we’d really love a few more plants to help fill the tables!

If you’ve got spare seedlings, cuttings, herbs, houseplants, divided bits from the garden, or random tomato plants that appeared out of nowhere please bring them along for swapping and sharing

Plant drop-off:
🌿 Friday 5 June, 12–5pm at Belmont Park entrance
OR just bring plants with you on the day.

You can find us at the Respect Festival in the family area:
📍 Saturday 6 June, 12–5pm
📍 Sunday 7 June, 11am–5pm

And please give this a share so we can gather as many lovely plant people as possible 🌼

Join us to discover The Art of Growing from Seed - A talk from Laura Langabeer from The Heritage Seed Farm and hear about the many wonders of growing plants from seeds.

📅 Saturday 6th June, 11am

Laura Langabeer runs The Heritage Seed Farm here in Devon. She is visiting us to talk about native heritage seeds, why they are important, and hear about their rich backstories. Laura will speak about ideal conditions for plants to thrive in healthy soil and share practical tips on growing - on whatever scale.

Afterwards, there will be time to ask Laura questions, grab a free hot tea/coffee and explore Exeter Seed Bank's Touring Seed Library. You might also leave with a little seed-related goody!

Whether you are an experienced gardener or grower, or simply curious to learn more - everyone is welcome! Please book your tickets here: https://www.ticketsource.com/librariesunlimited/talk-discover-the-art-of-growing-from-seed/2026-06-06/11:00/t-ldenjyo

Join us for a craft of seed saving workshop. Saturday 2nd May 2-4 at Exeter Phoenix. These 15 germination tests should be ready on the day and we will prepare another lot together. We get lots of seeds donated for the seed swap and don’t have time to do germination tests. Join us for a hands on workshop all about saving your own seeds for future growing seasons. We will cover the easy wins: crops that don’t cross pollinate easily and can be saved from just a few plants including French beans, peas, tomatoes and lettuce.
Book on Exeter phoenix website, a few spots left.

Kale crowd growing project update from with Neil at the Kitchen Garden / 📸 Photo shows the difference in growth between a ‘control’ plant, and a Kale seedling with the Goop seed inoculate from - these were planted at the same time and in the same soil. Huge difference with the help of the microbes from the Goop!
