Thanks to volunteer Mary, our Exeter 75th Anniversary Christmas tree is now on display in Princesshay, Exeter. The very special decorations feature historic photographs from over the years of Guide Dogs training in Exeter, including one of the late Queen Elizabeth second on her visit to the original training centre at Cleve House.

“Dr Nic Bonne is a blind astronomer dedicated to making space science accessible”

The British Science Association campaign ‘Smashing Stereotypes’ runs through British Science Week (7th-16th March) celebrating innovators in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) sectors 🔭

Meet guide dog owner Dr Nicolas Bonne 👋 a visually impaired astronomer who’s been selected as one of the scientists featuring in this year’s campaign.

Dr Bonne is a Public Engagement and Outreach Fellow in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Portsmouth and leads the Tactile Universe project - developing multi-sensory resources that make astronomy more accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired.
