🚊 Could tram-trains be the future of transport in Edinburgh?

We went along to a public meeting this evening to hear about an exciting proposal from Tram Trains for Edinburgh (TTFE), a voluntary group campaigning to make better use of Edinburgh's existing South Suburban Railway.

The idea is to introduce tram-trains that could bring much-needed public transport connections to communities including Craigmillar and Niddrie.

We think it's a fantastic idea and one that could make a real difference to local residents, businesses and the people who work in the area.

Better transport links mean easier journeys to work, improved access to local businesses and more opportunities for our community to grow.

TTFE is a volunteer-led campaign and we'd love to help spread the word, particularly among the local business community.

Remember your first taste of the working world?

We’re supporting our neighbours at Castlebrae Community Campus with their Work Experience Week, and we’d love to get more local businesses involved too.

Work experience might only be a few days, but for a young person it can be a pretty big deal.

It’s a chance to step into a workplace, meet new people, ask lots of questions, try a few things and get a feel for what working life is actually like. It might even spark an idea about what they’d like to do in the future.

And you really don’t need a fancy work experience programme. You just need a bit of time, some patience and a willingness to let a young person see what goes on behind the scenes in your business.

We’ll be opening our doors at Create and we’d love some of our local businesses to do the same.
