We’re absolutely delighted to have been featured in the latest press release from the Greggs Foundation, highlighting the work of Midnight and Beyond and the difference we’re making to young men and families across North Edinburgh.

Even better, we’re thrilled to confirm that our funding from the Greggs Foundation has been renewed for another year! 👏

When we started Midnight and Beyond back in 2014, we began by working with just six young men. Today, we support upwards of 60 at any one time, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, improve their wellbeing and find positive pathways into education, training and employment.

But our work goes beyond supporting young people. We’re committed to helping families facing hardship, strengthening our community and giving young people the opportunity to build a brighter future.

The Greggs Foundation’s support has played an important role in helping us grow and continue delivering this work. Their belief in what we do allows our small team to focus on what matters most: building relationships, creating opportunities and being there for young people and families when they need us.

This is what meaningful partnership looks like. 🤝

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Midnight and Beyond has received an award from the Garfield Weston Foundation

This support will make a huge difference to our organisation and, most importantly, to the young people and families we work alongside every day.

Flexible funding like this gives us the stability and confidence to continue delivering the much-needed support, opportunities and positive activities our young people and families rely on. It also allows our staff to focus their time and energy where it matters most — on being there for the people and communities we serve.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for recognising the importance of our work and investing in what we do. We’d also like to thank everyone involved in the decision-making process for their support.

This award will help us continue to make a real difference, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together. 💙

The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family founded grant-maker supporting charities operating in a wide variety of sectors across the UK that make a positive difference within their communities.

Established by W. Garfield Weston in 1958 through an endowment of shares in the family business – now known as Associated British Foods plc – the Foundation continues to be guided by the Weston Family. The Trustees, each of whom are direct descendants of the founder, play an active, informed role in its work.

This successful model has ensured that our charitable donations have grown as the businesses have grown, enabling the Foundation to award grants totalling nearly £1.7 billion since its establishment. The most recent financial year 2024-2025 saw the Foundation give away almost £130 million to 2,967 charities.

Today we had staff & S4 pupils from Erskine Stewart Melville School to help us down at our track. We had such a great time with them helping us do litter picks, brashing bushes & trees, cutting back weeds & nettles, moving garden waste that had been dumped on the land, clearing footpaths for walkers & pets, dug out our fire pit, lit a safe fire, cut wood for the fire, helped rebuild a bike jump & lots more. All this as well as having a go at our outdoor gym. The place looks amazing now & much cleaner for everyone in the community to use. They also took a real interest in our work which was great to answer questions.

We’d like to extend a huge thanks to everyone from us all at Midnight and Beyond, it means a lot to us to have people like you who are willing to give up their time to help out. The school should be so proud of you all & you’re all welcome back anytime.
