TS Fife - Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets.

TS Fife - Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets. A safe place for young people to learn valuable life skills with a nautical theme. S/Lt (SCC) Stephen Jarvie RNR is our Commanding Officer.

Rosyth Sea Cadets meet up on:
Monday - 18:45 - 21:00
Wednesday - 18:45 - 21:00

At TS Fife we are very proud to be based in MOD Caledonia base in Rosyth. We have a junior section for those aged 10 to 12. All the juniors work very hard to be the best they can. The juniors parade on a Monday night only. The cadets aged 12 to 18 all enjoy learning the ways of the Royal Navy through practial and theor

y based lessons. We work with other units to allow the cadets to get the best knowledge available to them. This allows the staff to train as well. Cadets pay a voluntary subscription of only £10 per calender month (Junior cadets £5).

⚓ Sea Cadets Explore HMS Duncan in Dundee Yesterday.

Cadets from TS Fife had the incredible privilege of touring the Type 45 Destroyer, HMS Duncan, while she was alongside in Dundee the affiliated ship to TS Duncan .

Highlights of the Tour:

Two Tour Groups: Cadets split up to explore the ship thoroughly.

Bridge & Ops Room: Learning how the crew navigates and tracks targets.

Flight Deck & Quarterdeck: Getting up close with the onboard Wildcat Helicopter and cutting-edge drone technology.

Interactive Q&A: The ship's crew shared insights into modern naval operations and answered questions.

Our sincere thanks go to the Commanding Officer, Executive Warrant Officer, and the entire ship's company for their hospitality and time.

Special thanks also to Sub Lt Ross (CO TS Duncan, Dundee Sea Cadets) for organizing this unforgettable experience.

Tonight, while our young people enjoyed a chilled evening with a movie and popcorn after Monday’s incredible awards night, our volunteers took the chance to focus on their own development.

Split into two teams, they tackled a teamwork challenge that put their strategic thinking, problem-solving, and even a bit of maths (to some people’s displeasure!) to the test. With the clock ticking, there was plenty of friendly rivalry, laughter, and collaboration as they discovered more about their own strengths and what kind of team players they are.

It’s great to run an activity centred on adult development for a change — it highlights that we’re just as committed to investing in our volunteers as we are in our cadets.

Looking forward to the next time!

👏 Well done to POC Jackson, POC Stock, and AC Mitchell! 👏

This past week they successfully completed their Cadet Drill Instructor Course — one of the toughest qualifications a cadet can achieve.

Held over five days at HMS Caledonia and delivered by NSO Drill & Ceremonial, Lt Cdr Barker MBE, the course tested them from dawn till dusk. Daily uniform inspections, drill theory, personal drill, power of command, rifle drill, learning the history of sword drill (which they put into practice if they become an adult drill instructor when they turn 18) — plus planning lessons, covering health and safety, risk assessments, and training plans.

These cadets showed outstanding commitment, discipline, and determination. The tears, tantrums, aching feet, and hours of polishing and ironing were all worth it!

A tremendous effort and incredible achievement!

Huge congratulations to our new cadet drill instructors — your unit is proud of you and we hope you are all immensely proud of yourselves too!
