DISTRICT OFFICER – VOLUNTEER VACANCY: Northern Ireland District

On appointment as our Senior Staff Officer, Cdr (SCC) Robert MacLennan RNR will be relinquishing the role of Northern Ireland District Officer in April 2026, after more than eight years in post, applications are invited for a successor.
Please join us in thanking Cdr MacLennan for his strong leadership, commitment, and dedication, whilst in post.
The District Officer is responsible through their leadership in ensuring that a great experience is delivered for Sea Cadets in the District’s area of operations and to ensure that this experience is maintained through suitably challenging and enjoyable camps, courses and other events in line with SCC policies.
The District Officer is also responsible for ensuring that all Units maintain high standards of discipline, administration, training and safety in accordance with regulations and instructions. Given the importance of the role, it will be expected that the successful applicant would relinquish any Unit or Area duties that they may currently hold.
Applicants must inform their line management of their interest in the role. The appointment to District Officer is for a nominal period of 5 years, which may be extended on approval of AO, for a period not exceeding a further 5 years.
