Some more pics from camp!

Since we had a birthday boy, we finished with a laser tag and pizza birthday party (complete with zombies 🧟‍♀️)

I’m not sure if our Juniors or Company lads enjoyed it most…

Glad to see our Company is being well represented at the World Cup, supporting Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Mr Falconer at that bar where everyone knows your name in Boston, and Mr Wedge having a lilac Grove reunion with former 3rd Dunfermline boy Fraser at a Boston Red Sox match.

It’s also Mr Wedge’s birthday today!

Hope you’re all having a great time!

Last Sunday at our camp morning service, we celebrated two of our boys who were rewarded for their kindness throughout the weekend.

We celebrated a birthday boy with a surprise piñata 🪅

And celebrated the end of our bug project by making our own bees 🐝

If you look closely you will see two remarkable things: one, it was Mr Falconer leading this activity - unheard of - but then, as one was accidentally dropped, it attracted an actual bee 🐝

No bees were harmed but the piñata was properly blootered!

Is it BB camp if you don’t get to build a shelter in the woods AND get soaked?

For the boys this is playing in the trees, it’s fun. But actually this is the character building stuff: Working together in teams, planning, co-ordinating, strategising, delegating, finding all the best trees and branches, lugging them to your chosen spot.

Then figuring out where to sit in the shelter to not get soaked…

You can’t miss the last pic to see when sometimes all that effort to avoid getting drookit didn’t quite go to plan…

Our planned outdoor wiggly worm earth pot activity at camp was rained off, so we took shelter in the hall and ‘made do’.

Boys placed (homemade) chocolate brownie ‘earth’ into paper cups, topped with chocolate custard (Alpro milk chocolate dessert), and repeated the layers carefully, then they added (Aldi) strawberry lace worms🪱 and added edible eyes to wiggly worms (Aldi) with edible glue.

They loved them 👍🏻

All vegan, supporting our boys’ dietary requirements by making something everyone could participate in equally.

An important part of our BB ethos - genuine inclusion of difference and diversity 🥰

And no worms were harmed in the making of any wiggly worm pots 🪱 🐛 🪴 🍫 🌱

On Saturday, our fab young Officer Morgan is walking a mammoth 54 miles in 24 hours to raise money for the army benevolent fund to support service personnel and their families.

Please consider donating to help him reach his goal!

On 06 June I'm taking on The Cateran Yomp: A 54-mile hike in just 24 hours to raise money for soldiers, veterans and their families.

As part of our programme we have been learning all sorts of fascinating facts about different insects! 🐜🐞🐝

Over the past few weeks we have been working together to make these mobiles to show the lifecycle of a butterfly 🦋 We used lots of different skills and had lots of fun too!
