Last night saw some promotions at the squadron for our young leaders.

Congratulations to the newly promoted:

These promotions reflect the dedication, determination, and resilience each of them has shown through their time as a cadet. They’ve consistently put in the work, met challenges head-on, and earned the respect of those around them.

A well-deserved achievement and an important milestone in their careers. Wishing them all the best as they take on their new responsibilities!

A huge well done to all of our cadets and staff who took part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk today! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A 5am start couldn’t hold them back as they headed up north to represent m the squadron with pride. They covered 18 miles while raising vital funds for our Charity of the Year, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA. Every step taken today will help support the incredible lifesaving work carried out across Scotland by this fantastic charity.

We’re extremely proud of everyone’s effort, determination and teamwork throughout the day. Thank you to all those who have supported and donated - your generosity makes a real difference. 2 more kiltwalks are on the horizon, we’re halfway through our challenge of completing them all!

A special thank you to local hero Windy Wilson Weather and Road Reports for the support and encouragement along the way! We hope your feet are healing!

There is still time to donate to our fundraiser👇👇

Bringing ENERGY to the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund annual 5k!

Always a pleasure to support such an important and inspirational event….and of course, bring some of the 1145 Sqn buzz to Pittencrieff Park!

🎖| A little encouragement goes a long way when you need to get yourself up the hill three times in Pittencrieff Park!

1145 City of Dunfermline Squadron RAF Air Cadets play a massive role as our inspirational Captain David Seath Memorial Fund 5K route stewards.

Their relentless energy, enthusiasm and volunteer spirit makes a huge difference in encouraging attendees around the route, who are a credit to their squadron, schools and families.

The event played a massive role in raising over £3000 in support of David's legacy last weekend, combined with donations, a sponsored run and our inspirational London Marathon runners, Alex and Ben.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of former Cadet Sergeant Charles Peoples.

Charles was a dedicated and valued member of the squadron, remembered with great fondness by staff and cadets alike. A resilient and confident young man, he embraced every opportunity cadets had to offer, culminating in his appointment as Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet in 2023 - an achievement he was immensely proud of. His positive attitude and determination left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

The 1145 family are heartbroken at his loss, and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Charles’ family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Charles’ family have kindly shared details of his funeral for those who may wish to attend. They have asked that those attending wear whatever they feel comfortable in:

Monday 11th May
1130 hrs
Dunfermline Crematorium

Charles will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew him.

🚨STAFF NEWS🚨

A huge congratulations to Sgt Sean Richmond on his promotion to Flight Sergeant RAFAC.

As our Squadron Adjutant, Sean keeps the admin side running smoothly and is very much the go-to for getting things done. Alongside this, he also serves as the Central Scotland Wing Media Officer, Sector 2 SNCO, and regularly supports the delivery of training, camps, and courses throughout the year.

He’s a reliable, hard-working member of staff who leads by example and supports both cadets and staff across the Wing. This promotion reflects all his efforts over the years.

Well deserved, and we wish him continued success as a Flight Sergeant!

🚨🌊 Visit to RNLI South Queensferry 🌊🚨

Our cadets had an incredible visit to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) South Queensferry this week!

From learning about the lifesaving work carried out by the volunteer crews to getting up close with the lifeboats and equipment, it was a truly eye-opening experience. The dedication, professionalism, and bravery shown by the RNLI team left a lasting impression on everyone.

A huge thank you to the crew for taking the time to share their knowledge, answer our questions, and give us a behind-the-scenes look at how they save lives at sea 🚤👏

🎯 A great weekend away for at PGL Dalguise💪

This Squadron-level camp gave everyone a valuable opportunity to spend time together away from the usual routine, take on new challenges, and strengthen teamwork across the unit.

Cadets and Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) threw themselves into a packed programme of activities including the climbing wall, zip line, trapeze, giant swing, an exciting Ambush Night Exercise along with plenty more across the weekend. From pushing personal limits at height to working together on the ground, every activity brought teamwork, resilience, confidence, and plenty of laughter.

A huge well done to all cadets for their enthusiasm, determination, and willingness to get involved throughout the weekend 👏
