Fordell Firs is the home of Scottish Scout Headquarters and is situated in Fife, just outside Dunfermline. The Centre is 20 minutes' drive from Edinburgh and is within easy reach of a range of transport connections. The centre provides full and half day packages with programmes tailored to suit individual requirements. We can cater for a very wide range of groups/events from Scout camps to corpora

te team building events. The huge camping ground, which can accommodate up to 600 people, provides an idyllic setting for staying under canvas and there is indoor accommodation available too.

🌲 Upcoming Activity Events at Fordell Firs 🌲

We've got an exciting summer of adventure ahead at Fordell Firs, with opportunities for both individual young people and Scout sections to get outdoors, learn new skills and take on exciting challenges.

🎯 Wild Adventure Days
Open to all children aged 5–12, these fun-filled days include activities such as zip lines, climbing, archery and more.

🏹 Challenge Award Activity Days
Designed for Scout sections looking to complete Challenge Awards through adventurous activities including climbing, target sports and bushcraft. Squirrels can attend a single day event, while Beavers, Cubs and Scouts must attend both event days to complete the requirements for their Challenge Award.

Let’s make outdoor adventure accessible to every young person 💚

Our Outdoor Instructor Gregor has taken to new heights on the climbing tower to shout about the upcoming Challenge Award Activity Days at Fordell Firs! 🧗🌲

You can join Gregor and the team of qualified instructors throughout July to earn your Challenge Award through adventure-filled days packed with Roped, Target and traditional bushcraft based sessions.

📅 Event Dates:
🐿 Squirrels – 20th & 21st July
🦫 Beavers – 23rd & 24th July
🐺 Cubs – 27th & 28th July
🏕 Scouts – 30th & 31st July

Each event runs from 10am - 4pm and costs £60 per child per event. These are day events only, with bookings made individually through the portal - no leader or group attendance required.

Squirrels can attend a single day event, while Beavers, Cubs and Scouts must attend both event days to complete the requirements for their Challenge Award.

What an incredible weekend filled with energy, creativity, and unforgettable moments. Huge thanks to everyone who took part and helped make it such a success, and we hope to welcome you all back again soon!

🩵We loved welcoming Scott, Head of Charity Operations at Scottish Children's Lottery and Scottish Children's Lottery Trust to Fordell Firs. It was a great opportunity to showcase everything we offer young people, from the 3G Swing and climbing tower to the zipline, challenge course, archery, caving and more, and to highlight how their support is helping even more young people of all abilities take part and enjoy these experiences.

Thanks again, Scott, for taking the time to visit us, and for presenting us with their cheque to highlight their generous £1000 donation which supported the purchase of new ropes and harnesses, including adaptive climbing harnesses for participants with disabilities.

This kind of support wouldn’t be possible without the players of Scottish Children’s Lottery - the more people who play, the more funding can go to charities like us making a real difference in communities across Scotland.

A huge thank you to the Meikle Foundation for their ongoing support for our work at our Fordell Firs Outdoor Centre in Fife, where they have helped more young people build skills for life through their donation🌿

We want every child to have the opportunity to experience and benefit from all that Fordell Firs has to offer, regardless of their background or ability. That's why we are improving disability access to make more of our activities accessible and providing waterproofs for those who do not have them.

We’re incredibly grateful for their continued support in helping us grow, improve, and continue our work for young people here at Fordell Firs 💚
