You cannot restructure your way out of a public service crisis.

💜💚 Public Service Reform – UNISON Scotland Responds

The Scottish Parliament’s Public Service Reform Committee is examining how the 2027/28 Scottish Budget will deliver reform of Scotland’s public services.

The Scottish Government has set targets for the next three years including:

💷 £500 million in annual “efficiency savings”
👥 A 0.5% reduction in the public sector workforce each year

The Committee has asked whether these targets are achievable and what impact they will have on public service reform.

UNISON Scotland has submitted its response, making sure the voices of our members and the workers who deliver Scotland’s vital public services are heard.

📢 Public service reform must work for our services, our workforce and the communities that depend on them.
