Ria joined us in January when the CD branch became part of our team, and she has absolutely thrived! 🥰

She’s always up for trying new things, willing to learn, and is such a great help around the workroom. It’s been fantastic to see her grow in confidence and become such a valued part of the team.

Today we were visited by Faith from Solway Coast and Marine Project. She told us about the project and how they work to restore biodiversity along the Solway coast. We worked together in groups to think of all of the activities and opportunities we could do along our local beaches. Then we worked together to create an enterprise opportunity - Making our own BLP beach treasure wind chimes. We will be working to bring this idea to life over the next couple of months! Watch this space... 🐚

Working in teams is an important part of Better Lives Partnership Dumfries Why? Because in real life, teamwork makes the dream work! 🙌✨

Practising effective communication 💬, supporting others 🤗, sharing thoughts and ideas 💡, and helping everyone feel valued ❤️ are all important skills for navigating the real world 🌍

That’s why we always build teamwork into our week 📅. This might mean working as part of a slightly larger group 👥, or tag-teaming with a member of staff 🤝 to get a task done! 💪

Whether we’re working together to solve a problem 🧩, complete a challenge 🎯, or simply support one another 🤩 Teamwork gives everyone the opportunity to contribute, communicate and feel part of the team 🫶

Two more STEM challenges ticked off our Lifelong Learning, Dumfries & Galloway Council list yesterday! 🎉🙌

🥚 Challenge 1: What happens when you put a raw egg in vinegar for 2 days? 🤔👀
We’ve started the experiment… now we just have to wait! ⏳ Check back on Friday to see the result! 👀🥚

🧼🌶️ Challenge 2: The soap & pepper experiment — a simple experiment with a surprising result! 😲✨

Learning, experimenting, asking questions and having fun along the way! 🧠💡🧪

Definitely starting our week off well — Monday = Funday! 🥳 🍫 👁

Today was packed with fun, creativity and plenty of laughs! We’ve been busy updating our Dragon Eye books, making mini clay creations, baking delicious chocolate brownies 😋 and, of course, having lots of giggles along the way. 🐉📚🎨🍫
