Annan Breastfeeding Support Group is back this week at our usual venue, Sweet Like Candy Soft Play 💕

📅 Tomorrow – Wednesday 26th August
🕐 1.00–2.30pm

Drop in any time for breastfeeding support, to chat about your feeding journey, or simply to enjoy a cuppa and some company with other breastfeeding mums while the little ones play 😊

Whether you're expecting, feeding a newborn or breastfeeding a toddler, you're very welcome to come along. Combination-feeding and exclusively pumping families are always welcome too.

No need to book – just turn up. We hope to see you there! 💕

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Annan Breastfeeding Support Group last week. 💕

As you can see, all the babies seemed to decide it was snack time at exactly the same moment! 😅 It was lovely to meet some new faces, catch up with familiar ones and spend the afternoon chatting over refreshments.

Our next group will be on Wednesday 26th August, 1.00–2.30pm, and we should be back at our usual venue, Sweet Like Candy Soft Play.

Whether you're expecting a baby, feeding a newborn or breastfeeding a toddler, you're always very welcome to come along.

Some advice for breastfeeding in the warm weather this week (courtesy of the The Breastfeeding Network (UK)...

You may find that your child wants to breastfeed more than usual. This is completely normal 💜

Your breastmilk naturally adjusts for the changing needs of your baby - it contains more water in the warmer weather to keep them hydrated.

✨ Babies and water in the hot weather ✨

- There's no need to give water to a breastfed baby under 6 months old.

- For formula-fed babies under 6 months old, small amounts of cooled boiled tap water can be given during hot weather if needed.

- Babies over 6 months can be given water in a cup with meals - it doesn't need to be boiled first.

- For mixed or combi-fed babies, offer more breastmilk, if possible, or more formula.

- Never add extra water to formula or breastmilk

It was a hot one today 🥵, so we were especially grateful to The Corner House Hotel for hosting us at the last minute. The air conditioning, cold drinks and yummy traybakes were very welcome!

It was lovely catching up with a mum who first came to group while pregnant and who we were also able to help with a sling fitting for her newborn today (courtesy of Dumfries Sling Library).

Our next Annan group will be on Wednesday 29th July at The Corner House Hotel (the soft play will be busy with the school holidays). We'll have air conditioning, refreshments, snacks and, of course, breastfeeding support available.
