Supported Community Business

Supported Community Business At SCB, we help individuals grow in confidence, build real-world skills and find purpose in everyday achievements. SUPPORT A CHARITY THAT WORKS FOR YOU!

We believe everyone deserves a place to feel safe, supported and included. Our aim is to provide a therapeutic workshop facility for people in the locality with special needs / learning difficulties who wish to explore the world of work in a safe and controlled environment. Outwork is sourced from local businesses, providing real and meaningful work tasks which, through instruction and supervision

from dedicated staff, enables service users to learn basic work and life skills, gain an understanding of the world around them, interact and form friendships, grow in confidence and gain a sense of well being. The structured routine also offers parents and carers respite and the opportunity to organise their own time. If you feel you could support us, either through providing outwork or by offering support, please contact us via our website. You can also show your support through making a donation via 'JustGiving', shop through the on-line site 'The Giving Machine', or just by liking our page.

🌟 SCB – A Day Opportunities Provider with Purpose 🌟

SCB is currently welcoming new referrals and enquiries for adults with additional support needs.

These photos give just a small glimpse of the activities, opportunities and friendships that make SCB such a special place. πŸ’™

πŸ’‘ What is SCB?

SCB is a day opportunities provider for adults with additional support needs, offering structured, meaningful activities in a safe, supportive and modern environment.

Based in our purpose-built workshop in Crewe, we provide people with opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, make friends and take part in meaningful activities supported by our experienced staff team.

πŸ’· How is it funded?

Places at SCB cost Β£58 per day.

Funding is often available through:
βœ… Your social worker / local authority
βœ… Direct Payments (if you already receive them)

If you're unsure, speak to your social worker β€” many people are able to access support to attend.

πŸ› οΈ What makes SCB different?

We aren't a traditional day service.

We focus on purpose, routine and real opportunities in a proper working environment.

At SCB, individuals can:

πŸ”Ή Take part in practical, work-based activities
πŸ”Ή Build confidence and independence
πŸ”Ή Learn woodwork and hands-on skills
πŸ”Ή Work towards recognised qualifications through our ASDAN programme πŸŽ“

Some people use SCB as a step towards employment.

Others come because they want something more meaningful than traditional day services β€” and that's exactly what we offer.

πŸ“ Currently accepting new referrals and enquiries

We currently have places available and are welcoming enquiries from individuals, families, carers, social workers and other professionals.

If you would like to learn more about SCB or discuss whether we might be a suitable option, please get in touch or arrange a visit.

πŸ’™ Supporting Skills. Building Futures. Creating Social Impact. πŸ’™

Over the coming weeks, a number of our commercial customers and supporters will receive an SCB Social Impact Statement showing the difference their support has made over the past year.

Whether through outsourcing work to our workshop, fundraising, volunteering, sponsoring projects or donating equipment and materials, every contribution helps create meaningful opportunities for adults with additional support needs.

We hope these reports will help businesses see the real impact of their support and provide useful information for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Value and community impact reporting.

If your business is looking for ways to support a local charity whilst making a genuine difference in the community, we would love to hear from you.

πŸ“„ We have attached our new Social Impact Brochure which explains the different ways businesses can partner with SCB.

https://scbspecialneeds.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Corporate-Sponsorship-Brochure.pdf

Together we can create opportunities, build confidence and help more adults with additional support needs reach their potential.

πŸ’™ Keep an eye out for Judy today! πŸ’™

Our wonderful volunteer Judy is out and about today exchanging SCB fundraising tins and delivering new tins to local businesses that have kindly agreed to support our charity.

Judy will be carrying her official SCB ID badge for identification.

We're hoping this will become a regular round in the future, helping us keep in touch with our fantastic supporters and ensuring fundraising tins are emptied and replaced when needed.

Every penny raised helps us continue supporting adults with additional support needs to develop skills, confidence and independence through meaningful work and activities.

If your business would like to host one of our fundraising tins, we'd love to hear from you. Just send us a message and we'll add you to Judy's collection round! 😊

Thank you to everyone who supports SCB and helps make a difference in our local community. πŸ’™
