IMPORTANT PANTRY OPENING HOURS UPDATE

A gentle reminder to all our members and supporters that the Community Pantry will be closing early at 12:00pm on:

πŸ“… Wednesday 24th June
πŸ“… Friday 26th June

As temperatures continue to rise, it's important that we look after one another. The wellbeing of our volunteers, staff and members is always our priority, and creating a safe and comfortable working environment means a great deal to us.

Our volunteers give their time so generously to support the community, and we want to ensure they are able to do so safely, especially during periods of hot weather.

We kindly ask members to plan their visits accordingly and thank you for your understanding and support.
Looking after our community starts with looking after each other.

Thank you for helping us make Chance a safe, supportive and caring place for everyone.

We feel it necessary to share this message again.

If you are walking a dog today or over the next few days - go out in the early morning or late evening when it’s cooler. DO NOT walk a dog during the hottest parts of the day.

Don’t run or cycle with your dog when it’s hot.

DO NOT leave them in the car or tied up in the heat!

Pavements can get very hot! You know the saying, "it's hot enough to fry an egg!" Imagine what that does to your poor dogs' feet! If the ground is too hot to touch with your hand for five seconds, it’s too hot for paws!

β˜€οΈ Advance Notice – Temporary Change to Opening Hours Next Week β˜€οΈ

We wanted to give our members and the local community plenty of notice that, due to the high temperatures forecast, our Community Pantry opening hours will be reduced next week.

From Monday 22nd June to Friday 26th June, the pantry will be open:
πŸ•˜ Monday, Wednesday & Friday
⏰ 9:00am – 12:00pm

The wellbeing of our volunteers is extremely important to us. Many of our volunteers work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the pantry can continue supporting local families, and during periods of extreme heat we need to take steps to keep everyone safe.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding as we prioritise the health and wellbeing of our volunteers.
If you are planning to visit us next week, please take note of the temporary opening hours above.

Thank you for your continued support and please remember to stay safe, keep cool and look after one another during the hot weather.

Meet Sue and Pauline!

If you're thinking about joining our Community Pantry, these are two of the friendly faces you're likely to meet.

Sue and Pauline carry out our new member assessments, and their role is simple, they're here to listen.

We understand that talking about money isn't always easy, especially when you're struggling. Many people tell us they feel nervous, embarrassed or worried before their assessment, but there is absolutely no judgement here.

Our assessment isn't about ticking boxes or making people feel uncomfortable. It's about getting to know you, understanding your situation and finding out how we can best support you.

Everyone's circumstances are different, and sometimes having someone take the time to listen can make all the difference.

Whether you're feeling the pressure of rising living costs, finding it difficult to make ends meet, or just need a little breathing space, Sue and Pauline are here to help you access the support that's right for you.

You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need to be in crisis. And you certainly don't need to feel ashamed.

A warm welcome, a friendly chat and support without judgement, that's what you can expect when you visit us.

If you're worrying about money, struggling to keep up with rising costs, or finding yourself constantly stressing about how you're going to make everything stretch until payday, please know that you're not alone.

So many families in our community are feeling the pressure right now. The cost of food, bills, school expenses and everyday life can quickly become overwhelming. Yet many people suffer in silence because they feel embarrassed to ask for help.

There is absolutely no shame in needing support.

Our Community Pantry is here to give you a little breathing space when you need it most. For just Β£5 a week, you can access food and household essentials, helping to reduce the pressure on your weekly shopping bill and put a little money back into your budget.

More importantly, we're here to listen.

We're not interested in judging anyone's circumstances. Life happens. Unexpected bills, reduced income, relationship breakdowns, illness, caring responsibilities and rising living costs can affect any of us.

Our aim is simple: to help take some of the stress away, give you room to breathe, and support you to get back on top of things at your own pace.

You don't need to be in crisis to come to us. In fact, we'd much rather help before things reach that point.

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly or simply pop in and have a chat.

Many people assume we're a food bank, but we're actually a Community Pantry and there is a difference.

For just Β£5 a week, our members can access a wide range of food and household essentials in a setting that feels more like a local corner shop. Members can choose items that suit their household, helping to reduce the pressure of the weekly food shop and free up some money for other essentials.

But what makes us different is that we don't just provide food.

Everyone who joins our pantry has a conversation with us so we can understand their circumstances and identify any additional support they may need. We offer guidance, support and signposting to help people overcome challenges and improve their situation in the longer term.

We know that many people are struggling right now, but often feel embarrassed to ask for help. The reality is that financial difficulties can affect anyone, and reaching out for support can make all the difference.

Our aim is to support people before they reach crisis point, providing practical help, a friendly face and access to wider support services when needed.

No referral is required. You can self-refer and simply come and speak to us.

SUPPORT LOCAL. CHANGE LOCAL LIVES. ❀️

When you donate to Chance, you're not just giving food, you're investing in your community.

The people we support aren't strangers miles away. They're families, individuals, pensioners and children living in the same streets, estates and neighbourhoods as you. They could be your neighbours, your friends, or someone you pass every day.

At Chance, we're more than a pantry and we're not a food bank. We provide affordable access to food, but we also offer support, guidance and opportunities that help people improve their financial wellbeing and build a brighter future. We believe everyone deserves not just help, but a chance.

Every donation helps local people put food on the table, reduce financial pressure, and take positive steps towards greater stability and independence.

πŸ₯« Every tin, packet and donation stays local.
πŸ’™ Every contribution helps a local family.
🌟 Every act of kindness creates lasting change.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to National Lottery Community Fund for their continued support of Chance Changing Lives.

Funding like this plays an important role in helping us deliver our services and support local people when they need it most. It contributes towards staffing costs, volunteer expenses, training, and essential equipment, ensuring we can continue providing a high-quality service to our community.

Behind every project, activity, and support session is a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working to make a positive difference. This funding helps make that possible.

We are incredibly grateful for the trust and investment The National Lottery Community Fund has placed in our organisation, and for the opportunities it creates for the people we support every day.

Thank you for helping us continue our work and strengthen our community.

Calling all Aldi Nantwich shoppers, could you help support local people in need?

The next time you're shopping at Aldi Nantwich, keep an eye out for our donation trolley. Every item donated goes directly to local individuals and families who are finding it difficult to make their money stretch far enough to cover everyday essentials.

With the rising cost of living continuing to impact many households, demand for our Pantry and support services remains high. Through our Pantry, we provide access to affordable food as well as free essentials such as fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery items, and sanitary products, helping people make their budgets go a little further.

We're also here to offer practical support and a listening ear. Whether someone needs help with budgeting, managing debt, or accessing additional support, our team is here to help in a welcoming and non-judgemental environment.

If you're able to, please consider adding one extra item to your shop and placing it in our donation trolley.

A small donation can make a big difference to someone in your local community.

Thank you for your continued kindness and generosity. Together, we can help ensure that nobody has to face difficult times alone.
