In recognition of , we're proud to spotlight Cecilia๐Ÿ’™

Living with autism left Cecilia struggling to find the role she always wanted, and after being told that achieving her dream of working in a library would be nearly impossible, she had almost given up. We were lucky to have the opportunity to support her!

With targeted, consistent support from Fedcap through our Inspiring Futures programme, we helped her dream become a reality when she landed a role as a Library Assistant. By working with her new employer to help them understand any key triggers, Cecilia was able to grow her confidence and resilience, allowing her to thrive in her new role.

After a difficult work experience that affected his confidence and mental health, Dan spent a year out of work focusing on recovery. As someone on the autistic spectrum, he wanted to return to employment, but with the right support and understanding.

When Dan joined our Inspiring Futures programme, he wasnโ€™t sure where his path would lead, but he dreamed of working in a library. With tailored support from his Supported Employment Specialist, Henry, they created a CV to prepare for interviews and planned how they could discuss reasonable adjustments with prospective employers.

That support paid off. Dan secured a role as a Casual Library Assistant and has since thrived, taking on extra hours, volunteering, and even being encouraged to apply for a permanent position.

Speaking to Dan about his experience, he shared: โ€œI always tell people about Fedcap because it just works. I almost canโ€™t believe it exists, and I wish there were more programmes like Inspiring Futures."

Our personalised approach includes end-to-end support, even once you're in employment, meaning your dedicated Supported Employment Specialist will help prepare for work and continue to support you in your new role.
