🤝 The Power of Wellbeing

This week marked the launch of an exciting new addition to our Supported Adults Service, a wonderful yoga and meditation session delivered by the amazing Fiona from Music Box Meditations.

From the moment the session began, the room was filled with a sense of calm. Fiona’s gentle approach, soothing voice and understanding of how to work sensitively created an inclusive experience that supported both physical and emotional wellbeing.

What makes this collaboration even more special is that it’s not only benefiting the people we support, but also our staff too 😊.
Seeing staff and supported adults taking part together, sharing the same space to relax, recharge and focus on their wellbeing was incredibly powerful. Looking after the wellbeing of those who care for others is just as important, and we are proud to be able to offer opportunities that support everyone.

The feedback has been fantastic. When we checked in the following day, comments included:

💚 “I slept really well last night.”
💚 “It helped me stay calm.”
💚 “It was good that I could relax my mind.”

These simple but meaningful comments highlight the positive impact that yoga and meditation can have on our overall health and wellbeing.

We are delighted that Fiona will be joining us once a month, and we are excited to continue this journey together.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is slow down, breathe, and make time for ourselves. In a busy world, creating space to pause, reflect and recharge can make all the difference to our health and wellbeing.

🌱 Celebrating Three Years of Growth, Impact and Community

Over the last three years, Together We Grow - sewing seeds for mental health project has grown into so much more than a community garden. While the transformation of the space itself is amazing to see, the real impact has been the growth in people.

The George’s Community Hub is home of our

S - Supported
A - Adults
S - Service

Together We Grow has become a place where people feel welcomed, included and part of something special.

We have seen
💚 confidence rebuilt
🤝 friendships formed
🌱 skills developed
🏡 and a genuine sense of belonging created within our community
✨ people feel valued, connected and supported

It has never just been about growing fruit and vegetables. It has always been about growing people too 😀

Today’s celebration brought together our supported adults, our funders Crewe Town Council, VIPs and special guests including Crewe Town Mayor, Councillor Stuart Mackay Member Engagement for Cheshire East, Warrington & Halton and Deputy Mayor Councillor Martin Edwards as we proudly unveiled our commemorative plaque.

There were definitely a few emotional wobbles throughout the day as we reflected on how far this project has come and the lives it has touched along the way.

But this milestone is not the end. It feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Together We Grow has helped lay the foundations for our next three year project.
☕️ A Mini Café at the George’s Community Hub a social enterprise model, which will continue supporting adults to build confidence, develop employability skills, access volunteering opportunities and work towards pathways into paid employment through one-to-one support, training and hands-on experience.

The sun was shining 😎, a brilliant bbq and super proud moments shared together.

I’m incredibly proud to lead Team SAS who work tirelessly every day to make a real difference to our supported adults and the wider community. Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far 💚

Team SAS in action 👏

We had an incredible day recently at Aqueduct Marina, where our team of supported adults were invited to take part in a canoeing experience.

The session was delivered by the brilliant Orbis Outdoor Adventures Ltd team, who created such a welcoming and encouraging environment for everyone to try something new, build confidence, and most importantly, enjoy themselves.

The feedback has been amazing. There’s already talk of going back, which says everything about how much it meant to the group.

After our time on the water, we headed over to The Galley Café for lunch together, rounding off a genuinely special day.

Days like this really highlight what we’re all about – creating opportunities, building confidence, and making sure the people we support are continually experiencing new things and living full, active lives.

Another fantastic day with a brilliant team. Proud of what we do and the experiences we’re able to offer.
