Get inspired by John Aubrey and take part in our special origami butterfly day on Saturday 23 May.
Join us and help us reach our goal of making 400 origami butterflies, one for each year since John Aubrey’s birth, with the help of our origami artist-in-residence, Alex Ray. You will be able to make your own model to take home, as well as one for our exciting community art piece, which will feature in our summer exhibition. This event is suitable for all ages.

Our summer exhibition, 'Wiltshire and the World: John Aubrey and the Quest for Knowledge', marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of John Aubrey and celebrates the wide-ranging pursuits and scientific interests of the famous 17th-century antiquarian, scientist, and biographer. The exhibition runs from Saturday 13 June to Saturday 19 September, when you will be able to see your origami efforts on full display!
