Wiltshire 16-40 Phab We are Wiltshire 16-40 Phab Club! A social club for people with different abilities. Come along and have fun TOGETHER! Out of this discussion, Phab was born.

Phab (People Have ABilities) is about promoting & building an inclusive world, everyone with or without disabilities is welcome. Wiltshire 16-40 is affiliated with PHAB National. The beginning of Phab can be traced back to 1957 and a holiday course at the National Association of Youth Clubs at Avon Tyrrell in Hampshire. A young disabled man named Terry Rolfe made a speech: he asked for “opportunity, not pity” for disabled people. He asked simply that those with disabilities be given a chance to share in a programme of exciting activities on equal terms with non-disabled people. Mary Robinson, the director of the course, became the founder. The charity continues to inspire and support people of all ages to make more of life together. It has transformed the lives of many thousand of disabled people and changed the attitudes of millions towards those with disabilities, playing a vital role in our communities.

After a bit of a dodgy start (it was all working perfectly before you all arrived, honest), we managed to get the sing-along night going 🎤🎼.

Thank you 🙏 to both Kathryn for the song choices & Jim for organising the words.

It was great to see members, who don’t normally get up, dancing and singing. James Rees we wonder who that was? And Ben Evans singing at the top of his voice from his chair, completely transfixed by the words on the screen. Well done to everyone for giving it a try 🥰.

We are back in 3 weeks and believe it or not it’s only 3 more club nights until Christmas 😳.

We have a first again…sing-along-night 🎼🎤, all to well known songs.

So get those vocal chord’s tuned up and ready to belt out at the top of your voices 🥰.

What a lovely evening, it was great to see everyone interacting with each other and having fun 😍.

Quotes, Lyrics, Intros and Logos were some of the quizzes to get those grey cells working 🤯! A massive thank you to Richard for all the work in putting the questions together 👏👏.
