💰 Don't forget, the deadline for phase one of Cheshire West and Chester Council's Community Investment Fund (CIF) is Wednesday 4 November.

ℹ️ There are three key areas of the CIF in phase one, with priorities for each: strong start - inclusive communities and opportunities, healthy and independent living - employment, skills and financial wellbeing, and financial and community resilience - personal and financial resilience.

❤️ Community projects in Blacon are encouraged to apply for up to £2,000 in funding through Pride in Place Proud of Blacon, part of a UK-wide grant programme investing in neighbourhoods.

🤝 is working with the Pride in Place Proud of Blacon Board, as well as Cheshire West and Chester Council, to oversee a grants programme, with £50,000 available in total.

❤️ A collective of community sector organisations in Cheshire West have led a successful Summer of Appreciation project, celebrating the real difference volunteers make in local communities.

🤝 Across more than 30 events, 383 volunteers from 57 different community sector organisations engaged with the Summer of Appreciation, totalling 456 attendances and 1,241 hours of appreciation.

💰 A group of community sector organisations have received funding from to offer much-needed crisis and resilience support.

🤝 CWVA has overseen a programme on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council through the UK Government Crisis and Resilience Fund.

💰 A £650,000 investment will create new opportunities for Cheshire and Warrington’s voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

🤝 Funding has been secured through Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority's Mayoral Investment Fund (MIF) to deliver a new VCFSE Grant Programme. It will be led by Cheshire and Warrington Infrastructure Partnership (CWIP), a collective of infrastructure support charities and partners across the area.

ℹ️ There are three key strands within the programme, focusing on prevention and progression grants, community buildings and spaces grants, and feasibility pipeline development.

❤️ Want to help set the strategic direction of ? We're currently on the lookout for new trustees, with applications closing at 5pm on Friday 9 October.

🤝 As a local infrastructure organisation formed way back in 1914, CWVA offers a wide range of support to the community sector. In 2025, CWVA provided 9,109 hours of support or engagement to community sector organisations and partners, working directly with 1,906 people from 375 organisations. All people who completed CWVA’s 2025 survey said they’d recommend engaging with the charity.

ℹ️ CWVA is looking to recruit at least two new trustees. While all applications are welcomed, a Treasurer role is needed, and CWVA is keen to recruit other trustees with experience in areas like income diversification, enterprise and system change, support for grassroots community sector organisations, and digital.

😊 Thanks to Chester Zoo for hosting this morning’s Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) Alliance meeting.

🤝 A brilliant turnout, with a useful discussion about the upcoming Cheshire West and Chester Council Community Investment Fund (CIF), plus excellent presentations from Venturewood - Formerly Petty Pool Outdoor Education Centre, DSN, Cheshire Community Bank, and Cheshire Community Foundation.

💰 Cheshire West and Chester Council has launched the Community Investment Fund (CIF), with the first window for applications open from Wednesday 7 October to Wednesday 7 November.

ℹ️ The CIF will provide grant funding to community sector organisations to support all age preventative, community-led activity that helps residents earlier, strengthens local resilience, and prevents, reduces or delays the need for statutory and high-cost services. The total funding envelope available for the CIF in 2026-27 is £897,000, including £425,000 in Council funding and £472,000 from the UK Government Crisis and Resilience Fund.

🤝 At , we've been working closely with the Council in recent weeks and months to help shape the programme ahead of its launch, and Council colleagues will be visiting our alliances and partnerships to have collaborative conversations about the CIF.
