It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we at Chester Lions will be closing our doors on the 30th June 2026.

Our membership has steadily decreased over the past few years and recruitment drives have unfortunately had very little impact. Our current membership stands at only 13 members whose average age will be 80.6 years come June.

Yes the time has come to call it a day.

The Lions Club International have as their motto “We Serve” which we as a club have done since first forming back in 1960 with a starting membership of 20 local business men.

During this time we have had many members and supporters who freely gave their time sharing their knowledge and skills and not forgetting our many sponsors. For this we thank you all.

This support has enabled us to donate every penny raised which is in excess of £1,500,000 to many local charities and others less fortunate than ourselves and to major world wide disasters.

Once again many, many thanks to you all who have supported us over the last 66 years.

We are proud to be able to say

“WE SERVED”
