Last night we concentrated on our feelings for world mental health week 🥳

We played the bean game which got us moving and exercising and then discussed how we felt afterwards. Some of us were happy and feeling a bit silly, others were tired and worn out!

We then did some yoga 🧘 some of the squirrels knew some of the poses already which was great! Some of the poses apparently made it too hard to resist jumping on bluebelle! We then discussed if we felt relaxed or not (bluebelle was not 🤣)

We then did a sound bath, some squirrels were a bit wiggly and others I worried they were going to fall asleep 🤣🙈

We made some feeling monsters on sticks to take home!

We finished by playing we don’t talk about Bruno but we do talk about you!! Again exploring our feelings in a fun way!

We had a new squirrel join us and settled so well!! 🐿️

Last night we did some work on our super chef badge 🧑‍🍳

We made cookie dough 🍪 we had to mix our ingredients a lot but we made some great tasting dough 😃

We then finished our wildflower gardens from last week and got to take them home to grow 🥳 🌷

Massive well done to Ilyana and Louie for looking after our new squirrels so well and a huge well done to Reenie who has been so helpful she got to take Theodore home 🐿️

Hello.👋

Looking for a night!! Come support ur local scout group!!

On Saturday 17th October 2026 we are holding a Race Night at the hut. 🐎🐎
Everyone welcome! Adults £5 entry & children are free( but must be accompanied by an adult)
Food & Refreshments will be on sale as well as a Bar, Raffle, children’s Activities & Tuck Shop! 🍬🍫🍔🌭🍺🍷

All proceeds go towards new camping equipment for the group⛺️

If you could share the poster with family & friends that would be amazing & any donations would be greatly appreciated ( I will leave a plastic box in the foyer to put them in)

We hope all our Squirrels 🐿️ have enjoyed their first week back at school 🏫

Tonight has been Games night (sorry no pics - having too much fun 🤩) we played the Blanket Game, Bean Bag Toss, then later had juice, biscuits & a story!

Bluebelle was busy sorting out badges for squirrels to take home & they have all received their new book from Scouts/Twinkl

Tonight we have also invested our 3 new squirrels 🐿️ huge well done saying your promises loud & clear 🤩

Last weekend our squirrels, beavers and cubs enjoyed a weekend camp to celebrate the big birthday year! 🥳🥳
Squirrels turned 5
Beavers turned 40
Cubs turned 110
So we celebrated in style with a big birthday bash!! The weekend was jam packed with activities for each section and we all enjoyed a birthday party together where we sang songs, danced, played games and enjoyed cake!! 🎂
We introduced some new campers to our campfire songs and we didn’t let the weather effect us too much, infact we embraced it by swimming in puddles 🤣

Tonight we did our level 1 first aid ⛑️ 🩹

We started by learning who to call in an emergency and played a game of “emergency” to make sure we knew!

We then split into 3 bases:

1- Teddy hospital, this quickly turned into leaders hospital 🤣🤣

2- shout, shake and roll, we learnt how to put somebody in the recovery position with a rhyme!

3- first aid detectives, we learnt what was in a first aid kit and pairs it up with some pictures of different accidents

Bobby did such a good job in Teddy hospital that Theodore chose to go home with him 🥳🥳

Tonight we did our exciting experiments badge!! 🧪 🧫

We donned our science coats and we had 4 experiments to try…..

1- volcano eruptions

2- egg in pure water and then salt water

3- sink and float

4- we became fire breathing dragons 🔥

Nate then made up a science themed game for us and we finished off with juice, biscuits and a story!!

The squirrels had a ball this weekend on our very hungry caterpillar under the sea camp 🏕️ 🐛 we did lots of themed activities, crafts, games and even went on a hike!!!

We explored the woods where the squirrels made a seesaw using logs, we read a story in the woods and collected leaves and sticks to make pictures! We did an obstacle course but as caterpillars (crawling on our fronts!) and lots more themed activities including making fruit kebabs for our snack!!! After such a busy day we enjoyed a lovely campfire with hot chocolate and smores and sang lots of songs before we went to sleep!!!

After having pancakes, sausages and bacon for breakfast we played jellyfish limbo, made under the sea pictures and enjoyed playing with some new toys!! After lunch we did some knife and axe skills and then some soft axe throwing!!

Everyone is now absolutely exhausted but happy to have a new blanket badge 😃
