What an incredible day at Rumney Forum ❤️

Yesterday was all about people coming together to help improve, reorganise, clear, and sort the building so we can continue developing the Forum for the community we serve.

With the support of volunteers, local businesses and contractors, an enormous amount was achieved in just one day. Areas were cleared, waste removed, items organised, and the building made safer and more manageable moving forward.

Alongside the clear-up, we were also pleased that useful items could be passed on to the 28th Scouts, Tyndall Court, and local animal charities.

We want to give a huge thank you to the companies and individuals who stepped forward to support us:

⭐ Cambria Consulting Ltd
⭐ Twenty4 Fire & Security Ltd
⭐ Pritchard Holdings Ltd
⭐ CMB Engineering
⭐ BFSL
⭐ Evans Electrical Ltd
⭐ Lawray Architects
⭐ Liam Wozencroft and his maintenance team

Your time, expertise, equipment, and practical support made a real difference and helped us achieve far more than we could have alone.

And of course, thank you to our amazing Rumney Forum volunteers who kept everything moving throughout the day.

The support we are receiving is a real reminder of what community spirit looks like. Thank you all 💙

We want to say a huge thank you today to The Lawray Partnership and Cambria Consulting for offering their support to Rumney Forum.

The Lawray Partnership, a leading architectural practice, and Cambria Consulting, award-winning structural engineers, both stepped forward today to help us during a challenging period.

It means more than words can express to see respected professionals and businesses rallying around the Forum and our community.

This is about more than a building.
It’s about protecting a space that has supported local people for the last 10 years.

Every organisation that offers support is becoming part of a growing team standing behind Rumney Forum and the community we serve.

To everyone reaching out, sharing advice, offering expertise or simply showing encouragement — thank you. We see it, and we appreciate it deeply ❤️

💛 A heartfelt thank you to everyone at St Dyfrig’s Church 💛

We are so grateful for your continued kindness and generosity. Once again, you’ve provided a wonderful donation of food and essential items to help support our community.

These donations will go directly to local families who need a little extra support right now, and they truly will make a real difference.

Your ongoing support means so much to us and to the people we serve. It’s acts of kindness like this that show the true strength of our community.

Thank you for standing with us — we appreciate you more than words can say 💛

We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Since our last update, the response from the community has meant more to us than we can properly put into words. The messages, the shares, the kind comments — we’ve seen them all, and they’ve lifted us during what has been an incredibly difficult time.

Rumney Forum has always been about people. It’s about the conversations over a cup of tea, the support when someone needs it most, and the feeling that no one has to face things alone. Seeing that same spirit come back to us right now has been truly powerful.

We’re still facing challenges, and the situation hasn’t gone away. But knowing that so many of you care, and are standing with us, makes a real difference. It reminds us why this place matters — and why it’s worth fighting for.

If you’re able to keep supporting us, please do. Whether that’s sharing our posts, talking to others about what Rumney Forum means, or simply continuing to engage — it all helps more than you might realise.

Most of all, thank you for being part of this community. We’re still here, and we’re not giving up.

Update from Rumney Forum Trustees

We want to be open and honest with the community.

On 28th April, the Trustees of Rumney Forum were backed into a corner and made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors due to ongoing legal proceedings and escalating costs linked to a dilapidations dispute at Brachdy House.
It was a devastating moment for all of us.

For 10 years, Rumney Forum has supported thousands of local people with food, clothing, essential community services, friendship and support — and the thought of losing that was heartbreaking.

But just as we reached that point, things changed.

Thanks to the involvement and support of Steve Borley and CMB Engineering, we were able to pause that decision.

His backing came at a critical time and has given us the chance to keep going — and to keep fighting for the future of Rumney Forum.

We are still facing an ongoing legal dispute, and the financial pressure hasn’t gone away. But this support has given us breathing space and hope when we needed it most.

Now more than ever, we need our community behind us.
