A HUGE THANK YOU TO BIRCHINGTON UNITED SERVICES CLUB! 👏

What a fantastic evening of fundraising! 🏇

On Friday 23rd October, the wonderful Birchington United Services Club held a Race Night in support of the League of Friends of Kent & Canterbury Hospital and raised an incredible £457!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who came along in challenging weather conditions, took part, supported the races and made donations, all the proceeds have gone towards helping us continue our work for patients, staff and visitors at Kent & Canterbury Hospital.

We are always so grateful when local clubs and organisations get behind the League of Friends and organise events like this. It’s a brilliant reminder of just how much our community can achieve together! 🙏

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone at Birchington United Services Club for organising such a wonderful evening, and to everyone who came along and supported them.

£457 is a fantastic amount, and every penny really does make a difference! 👏

💙 £197,000 PLEDGED IN 2026 AND WE’RE NOT FINISHED YET! 👏

Did you know that since the beginning of 2026, the League of Friends of Kent & Canterbury Hospital has already pledged an incredible £197,000 towards equipment and items for our hospital and we’re only in October!

Formed in 1953, the League of Friends has spent more than £9 MILLION on equipment and those important extras that help make a difference to patients, staff and visitors at Kent & Canterbury Hospital.

Over £9 million spent on equipment since 1953
£290,000 spent on equipment in 2025
£197,000 already pledged towards items since the start of 2026!

Behind every piece of equipment is a patient receiving care, a member of staff being supported in their work, or a family whose hospital experience is made that little bit easier.

And none of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters, fundraisers, volunteers and local community, thank you! 🙏

We are always looking for more people to join our wonderful team of volunteers, whether through our hospital shops, local groups or fundraising activities.
