📣We’re delighted to announce that our annual Summer Festival and Fair is on Sunday 19th July this year, just before the school summer holidays and it’s going to be a fun day out for the whole family!

⏰Sunday 19th July 12noon - 4pm
📍Kent & Canterbury Hospital CT1 3NG (opposite day surgery)
👍Free entry and parking

It’s set to be a fabulous afternoon with music, dancing, food, drinks, stalls, a kids area and a grand prize draw.

🗓️We will be announcing much more about the event in the coming weeks. Save the date and we hope to see you there.

As part of our fundraising for Kent and Canterbury Hospital we sell books in our hospital shops, they are also used for our popular Ward Library Trolley service for patients and this summer we are also asking for book donations for our annual summer festival and fair - date being announced this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled! ☺️

If you have any good condition paper or hard back books that you have read and could donate, we would simply love to receive your donations to support us to raise funds throughout this year. 📚

Simply pop your book donations into any of our hospital shops and they will be gratefully received.

📣We’re delighted to announce that the East Kent Radiotherapy Treatment Appeal is continuing until the 31st March 2027. 👏

We are getting closer to our target and are almost in a position to start the commissioning process for the new equipment. 👇

Several successful fundraising events have been held in recent weeks, including:

💙The Duck race held on the Nailbourne in the Elham Valley raised over £1.4K and was supported by many local families and the Barham with Kingston WI.

💙A fundraising dinner at the Tower of London raised £2K and several attendees have made further generous donations to the appeal which we are so grateful for.

Our East Kent Cancer Radiotherapy Appeal is about helping people and with your support Hilda Levi’s final act of kindness can improve cancer treatment for thousands in our community.

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us so far and we have achieved an incredible milestone already. 🙏

The money raised will purchase surface guided radiotherapy technology which is an advanced technique which streamlines radiotherapy treatment. It allows faster treatment, is more accurate and alleviates the need for tattoos or markings, more cancers to be treated locally and means fewer patients will need to travel to London or Maidstone.

An amazing £1,430.00 was raised and donated to our appeal. The presentation was made to The League of Friends by the President of United Services Club, Rafe Kelly. 🙏

Did you know that The Brickfield Micropub in Swalecliffe holds fabulous monthly quiz nights which are really friendly and fun events and always raise money for local charities?

Last Tuesday the League of Friends was the nominated charity for their Quiz Night and an impressive £110 was raised and then donated by the micropub in support of our East Kent Cancer Radiotherapy Treatment Appeal.
