Reed bed restoration project. A few before and after pictures of our first clearance job of the season. Opening up a reed bed removing willow encroachment, which quickly out shades the reeds, covers open water and eventually dries up the habitat.

Fantastic to find this newly emerged Golden Ringed Dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii) today right next to a leaky dam we built a few weeks ago.

Found this beauty at work recently.
Green Huntsman (Micrommata virescens) a nationally scarce species, but with widespread and scattered populations found in the South.

Beautiful day on site today. Delightfully peaceful as we were on a military site closed to the public. Fantastic views that the photo's just can't do justice to.
Finished the day clearing small pine around a very healthy population of around 8000 Marsh Clubmoss plants. A very rare ancient plant which is actually a type of fern and is only found on about 100 sites in the whole UK. The link below has more details.
