The Jungle Warfare Instructor Course 2601 concluded at the Jungle Warfare Division in Brunei on 18 June 2026, following an intensive programme that ran from 26 April.

Of the 36 students, 30 completed the course, a remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to all the Gurkhas who earned the Instructor Recommendation.

A team from 250 Gurkha Signal Squadron took on the Cateran Yomp 2026. Not only did they win but they smashed the course record. The Cateran Yomp is a brutal 54-mile, 24hr race across the Cairngorm Mountains of Scotland, demanding endurance, teamwork, and grit, all in support of soldiers, veterans, and their families.

The Jungle Warfare Instructor Course 2601, took place at the Jungle Warfare Division in Brunei from 26 April to 18 June 2026. Gurkhas s demonstrated outstanding resilience, determination and professionalism throughout the demanding course. Out of the 36 students enrolled, 30 successfully completed the course.

British Gurkhas Nepal conducted Exercise PASCHIM SIGNAL KHUKURI to ensure the operational effectiveness of Communications and Information Systems across 19 Area Welfare Centres. The team delivered fault diagnosis, inspections, maintenance and refresher radio training to ensure reliable communication for Gurkha veterans’ welfare support. The deployment also provided valuable hands‑on experience with HF radio for junior Nepal Signal Troop personnel.

Following the team's victory in the Corps OSC earlier the shooting team competed in the Def OSC finishing in 3rd place overall. Additionally all members of the team finished within the top 34 shots earning the coveted Army 100 shooting badge.

*Army Operational Shooting Competition 2026*

From 13–17 June 2026, 36 Engineer Regiment and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers (QGE) Shooting Team successfully competed in the Army Operational Shooting Competition (AOSC) 2026, held at Hythe and Lydd Ranges.

The team demonstrated exceptional marksmanship, determination, and professionalism while competing against some of the Army’s most accomplished shooters.

Under the leadership of Sergeant Dhiraj Rai, four firers earned selection to the prestigious Army 100—a notable achievement that reflects the Regiment’s dedication to excellence, operational readiness, and combat shooting proficiency.
