Who better to learn road safety and the green cross code from then the local Lollypop Lady!

Mrs Wilson has been the Lollypop Lady on the Old Dean Estate for 30 years.

We thank Mrs Wilson for coming along and imparting her valuable knowledge onto our Beavers!

This week the Cubs visited Brookwood Cemetery and learnt about some of the people who are laid to rest there - including the wife of the Captain of Titanic, 2 brothers who played for the England Rugby team in the 1800s and a WW1 flying ace amongst others.

They also got to see inside a mausoleum and were told how these are built and used.

We’d like to express our thanks to Kim at Brookwood Cemetery for taking the Cubs around and sharing her knowledge and expertise with them.

We also had some great feedback from her afterwards:

“The Cubs were very polite and well behaved and would love to have them back again”

Once again - Lancaster pack have made their leaders proud!

*Scout Hut Car Park*
Dear parents, Fellow Scout Leaders and District shop patrons.
The Camberley 478 Scout Hut's car park has been re-tarmacked, with thanks to Surrey County Council's funding.
We would like to ask you if you could possibly avoid making use of the car park until the 3rd June. This is to protect the freshly laid surface.
The shop will be open tomorrow as usual.

And so another cub camp has come to an end - from arrival on Friday, to leaving this afternoon it has been non stop! The cubs have had so much fun, conquered fears and learnt new skills. From sleeping in teepee tents, to sitting around a campfire - it has been so much fun!

Our cubs have excelled themselves again both in terms of behaviour and what they have achieved over the weekend.

However, none of this would have been possible without the help of our fabulous leadership team : Gordon (Chil), Mark (Badger), Sara (Hathi), Gary and Lisa - a huge heartfelt thanks from us both for all of your help and support over the weekend!

We will be creating a digital scrapbook of their adventures to share with their parents, but for now we sitting back, feet up with a coffee and pondering our life decisions!! 🤣

So from a very tired, exhausted, and broken Akela & Mowgli - thank you cubs, you have made us very proud leaders!

Bug Hunting and Hiking Adventures
Both our Beaver colonies went on an amazing adventure into the woods this week!
I have mixed up the photos this week.
We hiked, made bug hotels, had a little bug hunt and most importantly ticked off some challenge badge components.
What a fantastic adventure!

Thank you to all the amazing parent helpers who stayed and made the adventure more amazing!
