It was great to see so many members at the garden today. Lots of chatter and busy hands. Mina returned as promised and gave the potting shed a thorough tidy. We topped up the bog pond from the rain butt. Dave and Man continued installation of the irrigation system for the polytunnels - you need to be a puzzle genius! Plenty of harvesting and talk about preparations for Rooted Together on 12th September. Happy Day for all ☺️

It was a hot and muggy morning in the garden. We had two very welcome visitors. One was Jackie from the Lydian Singers choir. They will be singing at Rooted Together on the 12th September. The other was Mina. It was so good to see her back in the garden, getting everybody in order! Lots of questions and then a session planting garlic. Really lifted everyone's spirits. One of her suggestions was to build wooden planters you can hook onto the fence, behind the orchard and have trailing strawberries tomatoes etc What a great idea!

Free female-only bike riding sessions!

Mums, daughters or nans - all ages and experience levels are welcome, come and have a go! 🚲

Qualified female coaches will be running FREE female-only coaching sessions at Edenbrook bike tracks on the evenings of 27 August and 10 September, 5.30-6.30pm.

Come along for some relaxed support to help you with your first try at mountain biking, learn some new skills to use on the tracks or, for more advanced riders, learn tips to do some tricks!

⛔ Please be aware, all of the tracks will be closed to the general public during these sessions so the participants can ride freely and safely.

We had an active day on Wednesday with a team from lending their time and energy to the garden. What a difference they have made! It looks fabulous, all preparation for Rooted Together - our 10 year anniversary event. So many joyous activities and performers are coming - we hope to see you there 😊

It was a bright and beautiful day in the garden Saturday. Plenty of harvesting happened: runner beans, french beans, courgette, radishes, some sad looking beetroots and a handful of potatoes! The biggest crop and one that brought big smiles was the blackberries! We have some hard graft ahead - hose pipe ban; cans only now!

Keep your eyes open for news of our 10th Anniversary Event 'Rooted Together' - a joyous celebration, full of music, dance, craft, wellbeing and world foods.
