Tomorrow’s the day!

20 HAFWAY staff, young people and volunteers will be taking on an 8-mile walk through the beautiful Bolton countryside.

For many of the young people taking part, this will be a much longer walk than anything they’ve done before, so please dig deep, donate what you can, and cheer them on!

We’ve already smashed our original £1,000 target. Now let’s see if we can go beyond our new target of £1,500.

Every penny raised will help make a real difference in the lives of young people in Bolton.

Brownie-making with our Yr12+ session - I think this might be their favourite bake of all time… and we’re privileged to have such a great group that have been attending for years, and learned to bake well.
And yes it’s that slightly complicated part of the year where we age-up ready for the new academic year, because we believe it’s important that they get to build friendships ready for new schools, colleges and whatever happens next. So we’re welcoming our Year 11 leavers to our Yr12+ sessions! Thursdays 7-9pm

Our Friday afterschools sessions mean lots of young people, lots of chocolate spread sandwiches and toast, and lots of opportunities to catch up on the week - including celebrating with our current yr11s as they finish with school. Well done to everyone working hard on exams and revision. Keep going

Open on Mondays 6.30-8.30pm (except Bank Holidays!) For our usual football, badminton, table tennis and card games. New skills and new people to mix with! Connecting people across communities, learning to take turns, listen, be a team, handle competition well, resilience, share skills and be patient with people learning- a whole bunch of life skills happening in a safe space for all

Great job from our Girls group making Coconut Macaroons! Another first for us, and they looked just like the pictures - well until we decided to explore the food dyes! That’s our own epic. An unusual case where spelling matters - these are Macaroons as suggested by our young people, previously we made Macarons! Which we also loved and learnt lots in the making

A massive thank you for the donation of the massive cards, we had lots of fun trying our usual games with these enormous versions!
We’ve also had fun doing all kinds of sports, decorating cakes with our Beyond group (they were celebrating the end of SATS), and a bit of painting with our girls group too! Well done to all our yr11 for getting on with their exams - keep going, we are proud of you
