Fresh out of the oven and straight from the heart of our bakery it’s the start of another busy week of dough, flour and seriously good smells🥧

Every pie and pasty we make is shaped, filled and baked by hand the traditional way because we believe proper food takes time.

No shortcuts, no mass production just honest ingredients, skilled hands and a whole lot of pride in what we do💙 When you bite into one of our products you’re not just getting great flavour you’re supporting local people, local jobs and a small business that genuinely cares about its community.

Diane first met with the Foundation whilst still serving a custodial sentence. She wanted an opportunity to rebuild here life after a traumatic experience led to some regrettable behaviour leading to a conviction.

Contact was maintained until her release and Diane was able to gain work experience then paid work at the bakery. She quickly showed initiative and was given additional responsibilities during her time with HMPasties Ltd

Since completing her programme she is now receiving therapeutic counselling to help her work through her trauma and is working with the foundation to secure her next role to help her rebuild her life💙

🔹Ryan came to us in 2024, after being released from custody and gained a range of industry essential qualifications including:

🔹Level 2 Food Safety in Catering, Allergen awareness, cleaning and sanitising.

🔹He completed our programme, but due to a change in personal circumstances was recalled to prison.

🔹We maintained contact and upon completion of his sentence was welcomed back and has recently gained a full-time contract with HMPasties Ltd.

🔹He has re-engaged with the family and children, strengthened ties with the local community and is looking forward to a brighter future with HMPasties and the Foundation.

Ryan says
“I am happy in my work, and my home life, and the support has meant a lot to me, I feel part of something special”.

Paul and David had the pleasure of visiting HMP Thorn Cross. It was a productive and engaging meeting with returning citizens.

Our mission at H.M.Pasties Foundation is to secure training and permanent employment for all returning citizens, back to the north west and Manchester area.

Had the pleasure last week of attending HMP Hindley's enrichment event otherwise known as Sports Day!

As well as telling them about our work, how HMPasties Ltd was started and asking the men a couple of questions about their time left in custody and priorities on release.

#1 was paid employment, which gives them income to provide for themselves and their families.

#2 was housing, so they have a place to call home and start rebuilding their lives.

The Foundation can't provide homes but it can offer the opportunity to help people on with their employment ambitions.

As a thank you, they got to sample some sausage rolls which went down a treat!

Of course a big thank you to the The Arete Foundation for their funding so we could attend and gain insights, share our story and provide the food!

Things are still hotting up in the kitchen of HMPasties Ltd. To meet the growing demand for their award winning pies they are looking to further expand the team.

The jobs on offer include:
🔹2-3 Production Operatives (25+ hrs per week)

🔹1 x Cook (Full time)

🔹1 x Cleaner (Part time - afternoons)

The work is hot, fast paced and working to strict deadlines.
