FACES We are a local charity who provide early-help support to children, young people and their families. Proud members of the Baby Bank Alliance.

FACES is a registered and independent charity who have been firmly rooted in Bedford Borough since 1987. FACES stands for Family and Children’s Early-help Services. FACES support parents and children who are under stress, many of whom find access to mainstream services difficult. Working with a stable and committed staff and volunteer team, FACES provides a range of quality tested services in dire

ct response to the needs of families – our service users – at the early stage when we can make the greatest difference to the lives of parents and their children. FACES also aim to assist volunteers with finding their pathway to paid employment or further education. FACES’ objective is to offer services and support to children, young people and their families that:
- Promote safeguarding
- Improve physical and mental health
- Increase knowledge and skills
- Reduce poverty and need
We will achieve this by working collaboratively with other agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes.

πŸ›οΈ Cot Appeal πŸ›οΈ

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who responded to our recent stroller appeal. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have received a fantastic number of stroller donations and are now able to support even more local families. ❀️

Our BabyBank is now in urgent need of cots to help support families with babies and young children.

If you have a cot that is in good condition and meets current safety standards, we would be incredibly grateful for your donation. A safe place for a baby to sleep is one of the most important items we can provide to families in need.

To help us manage donations safely and efficiently, all donations are by appointment only. Please send us a message [email protected] to arrange a suitable drop-off time at our BabyBank. Please note we do not take donations at the Church Lane offices.

Your generosity helps ensure that every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Thank you for your continued support of our Baby Bank and the families we serve.

🚼 Stroller Appeal 🚼

Our BabyBank is currently running very low on strollers, and we urgently need your help.

If you have a stroller, pushchair, or buggy that is clean, safe, and no longer needed, please consider donating it. These items make a huge difference to local families who are struggling and help ensure babies and young children can travel safely and comfortably.

Every donation helps us support families in our community during difficult times.

If you can donate, please call 07596885216 or email [email protected] to book an appointment.

Please note we do not take donations at our offices on Church Lane.

Thank you for your continued kindness and support. ❀️

🌟 National Volunteers' Week 🌟

This National Volunteers' Week, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers. Your time, dedication, compassion and support make such a difference to the families and communities we work with every day.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you do and proud to have such a committed team of volunteers at FACES. Your contribution helps us continue making a positive impact across Bedfordshire.

We were especially honoured to receive The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2019 – the highest award a local voluntary group can receive – and this recognition would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers.

If you've ever thought about volunteering and would like to make a difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us at [email protected] to find out more.

πŸ“… Our next volunteer training course starts in September.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers – you are truly appreciated! πŸ’™

IT'S VOLUNTEERS WEEK!πŸŽ‰

It's national volunteers week, an annual campaign that celebrates the millions of people who dedicate their time and energy to their communities.

We are always looking for new volunteers and welcome applications from men and those with experience working with SEND children. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are valued for the unique skills they bring to FACES.

Our next training course is starting in September !

No previous volunteering experience is required nor do you need to have worked within a support service before. It is however beneficial if you do have previous experience of supporting families and children, whether that has been professionally or personally πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦β€

All volunteers are required to complete an application form and include 2 references as well as completing the mandatory 6-week training course. As part of the training, applicants will be asked to complete a Level 2 Adults and Children Safeguarding Course and will receive a certificate upon completion.
If you or someone you know fits these requirements; we would LOVE to hear from you! Please send us a message via our social media channels, email us on [email protected] or give us a call on 01234 270601 🀩
