We’re sharing this fantastic opportunity for dads who have children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

Being a dad to a child with SEND can bring unique experiences, challenges and perspectives, and it’s so important that dads have the opportunity to share their voice, connect with others and help shape the support available to families.

Yesterday, our CEO was on ITV Anglia talking about the growing struggle families are facing with the cost of school uniform. 📺

At FACES, we’ve seen a huge increase in families who simply can’t afford the cost of uniform. We’re hearing from parents who are having to make impossible choices — with some children going without other essentials so that they can have the uniform they need for school.

No child should have to feel different or go without because their family is struggling financially. 💙

That’s why FACES has set up a local giving page to help families with the cost of school uniform. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference.

We’re excited to announce that Being Dad! is starting again on Tuesday 15th September 2026 – and we’ve changed the day! 🎉

📅 **Every 3rd Tuesday of the month**
⏰ **5:30pm – 7:00pm**
📍 **Central Family Hub, 30 Allhallows, MK40 1LN**

Being Dad! is a welcoming group for fathers and carers, offering an opportunity to:

💬 Connect with other fathers
🤝 Share experiences
💙 Talk about the highs and challenges of being a dad
🌟 Get support from a FACES Family Support Practitioner

There’s no pressure and no judgement – just a friendly space to meet other dads, chat and share experiences. Funded by Bedford Borough Family Hubs.

🌱 3 weeks of our Fresh Food Pop-Up Shop! 🌱

We’ve now completed the 3 weeks of our Fresh Food Pop-Up Shop, helping families access fresh, nutritious food to support them during the school holidays. ❤️

We’re so pleased that we have supported 80 parents and 155 children to access fresh food. 🥦🍎🥕

A huge thank you to Woods Hardwick and Bedford Autoglass for supporting us with funding. Your generosity is helping us make a real difference to local families when household budgets are under extra pressure during the holidays.

We couldn’t do this without the support of our amazing community and funders. Thank you!💚

🚴‍♂️💙 They did it! Bedford to Cambridge complete! 💙🚴‍♂️

A huge well done to Mike and Rachel, who have now completed their Bedford to Cambridge leg of this incredible charity cycling challenge! 👏🎉

We’re delighted to share that so far, an amazing £750 has been raised for FACES Bedford,! 🙌 Special thanks to Bedford Borough Council Pensions Team for choosing FACES and raising the money.

Every donation will help us continue providing practical and emotional early-help support to children, young people and families across Bedford Borough who are facing difficult circumstances.

☀️🎢 What a fantastic day out for our FACES families! 🎢☀️

Yesterday, we took our FACES families on our annual summer trip to Wicksteed Park – and what an amazing day we had! 💛

There were smiles, laughter, exciting rides, games, ice creams and lots of happy memories being made. 🎠🍦😊 It was wonderful to see families enjoying a fun day together, creating special memories and having the chance to simply enjoy being together.

For some of the families we support, days out like this can be difficult to afford, so being able to provide a fun, free family day means so much. ❤️

A huge thank you to Charlie's Gift for funding our summer trip and making this special day possible. Your support has helped so many of our families enjoy a day they might not otherwise have been able to experience. 🌟

And a big thank you again to Souls Coaches for providing the coach and helping us get all our families safely to and from Wicksteed Park. 🚌💛 We really appreciate your support!
