You are warmly invited to an Act of Prayer and Reflection following the recent rail incident near Bedford.

This will be a quiet space to come together as a community. We will remember the train driver who died, pray for those who were injured, and hold in our thoughts all who have been affected. We will also give thanks for the emergency services, volunteers and everyone who responded with such care and professionalism.

There will be a short period of silence at 5.15pm, marking one week since the incident. This is a simple, prayerful gathering with space for reflection. All are welcome to come and take part in whatever way feels right for them.

‼In response to red extreme heat alerts issued by the Met Office and the UK Health Security Agency, St Mary’s Church and Hall will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday while the warnings for our area remain in place.

The alerts warn of very high temperatures and humidity, a risk to life, and possible disruption to power, water supplies, road travel and mobile phone services. Our facilities cannot adequately mitigate these combined risks.

The extreme heat, combined with high humidity, will affect everyone, but those with health problems and the youngest and oldest members of our community are at particular risk. Where it is safe to do so, please check on neighbours, friends and relatives who may need additional support.

⚠️ RED WEATHER WARNING – SESSION CLOSURE ⚠️

Due to the Red Weather Warning issued by the Met Office for Wednesday and Thursday, St. Mary's Church Hall has taken the decision to close to all bookings on both days.

As a result, our Goldington Pop Up sessions scheduled at St. Mary's Church Hall on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June will not be running.

Sessions this affects:
Play & Learn Toddler, Wednesday 9.30 - 10.30am - Cancelled
Play & Learn Cruiser, Thursday 11 - 12.15pm - Cancelled
Breastfeeding Support Group, 11-12.15pm - Cancelled
