IMPAKT Housing & Support (formally YMCA Bedfordshire) is a small independent housing association that provided a variety of supported accommodation for ages 16- 64. Alongside our portfolio of housing, we also impact our communities through other areas of social needs from working with schools to support young people or creating food larders that reduce food waste through to helping men and women flee domestic abuse. A small room, a few shelves, and a simple belief that nobody in our community should go without.

Do you know the criteria for accessing our community food larder?

Yes, there aren’t any.

Every Thursday & Friday between 10am and 1pm, at the top of Hawes Court (down the alleyway opposite B&M), you can shop, for free, from our range of fresh food, fruit and vegetables, cupboard staples, and household essentials.

A home is where everything else starts.

Supported housing gives people a safe place to live and the support to build from there, settling in, finding their feet, learning new skills and working towards a future that feels like their own.

It also does a huge amount behind the scenes, easing pressure on stretched health and care services and helping to break the cycle of homelessness. But that only happens when it’s properly funded.

At IMPAKT, our housing teams walk alongside residents every step of the way, at their pace and on their terms. We see every day what’s possible when people are given stability and someone in their corner.
