Our Immediate Past Master, Ben DiGirolamo, and our Lodge Secretary, Vincent Fattorusso were very pleased to present a cheque for £7,200 to Gemma Welsh from Teenage Cancer Trust. This is the amount raised by Ben and the Brethren of Britalia Garibaldi Lodge during his year as Master of the Lodge in 2025/2026 by fundraising events and Lodge Meeting Raffles.

The Worshipful Master, Biagio De Michele, of Britalia Garibaldi Lodge presented a cheque for £665.00 to Bev and Brandon, founders of SOS. Saturday Outreach Service on behalf of all the Brethren and guests who supported the Italian Night fundraising event at MAMMA CONCETTA recently.

SOS and their team of volunteers cook and serve food, drinks, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, bread, provisions, clothing, bedding, sleeping bags and toiletries to homeless people and anyone who is in need of help and support in the community. The service is provided on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at the end of De Parys Avenue (the old taxi rank) and usually support approximately 100 people on each service avenue. Everything is supplied by the generosity of local businesses and kind donations.

Brethren and guests attended an 'Italian Night' fundraising event at MAMMA CONCETTA last night. We were treated with various Antipasti, Spare Ribs, Wood Fired Pizzas and Italian Pastries by Alfonsino Joanne Bravoco and his team. Of course, wine was freeflowing.

We raised a total of £665.00 and all proceeds will go to one of our Worshipful Master's local charities SOS. Saturday Outreach Service .

The Britalia Garibaldi Brethren and Lodge visitors raised £350 last week from donations, an auction and a raffle in support of a local community charity, SOS. Saturday Outreach Service . We presented a cheque to the organisers, Bev Everitt and her son Brandon yesterday.

SOS and a team of volunteers support the homeless and those in need in Bedford by cooking and serving free hot food, sandwiches, pastries, desserts, bread, hot and cold drinks, produce and clothing on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at the old taxi rank at the end of De Parys Avenue. Usually, they provide a service to approx. 80 to over 100 people each day. SOS are also supported by a number of local business who kindly provide produce.

Our Worshipful Master Ben Di Girolamo and his wife, Adriana gave us all a 'Serata Meravigliosa' (Wonderful Evening) last Saturday. We all enjoyed an amazing 7 course meal with 7 pairing wines and a live singer. Thank you to everyone who kindly donated Raffle prizes and a TV for an auction. The total amount raised on the evening was £3,575.00 in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
