Masonic Province of Bedfordshire UGLE. The Britalia Garibaldi Lodge 10020 was consecrated on the 14th June 2022. Garibaldi was also a Freemason.

We are an Anglo Italian Lodge, formed through the high concentration of several generations of Italians now integrated with other rich cultures that we are blessed with in Bedford. The connection to Giuseppe Garibaldi is because he came to Bedford in 1864 and visited the Britannia Iron Works as well as Clapham Park Farm, to see a demonstration of steam ploughing. Our Lodge meets once a month between October and April at the Bedfordshire Masonic Centre, The Keep, Bedford road, Kempston, Bedford. We also meet for Lodge practices, fundraising charity events and social days/evenings that include golf days, clay pigeon shooting, classic car rallies, pizza nights etc etc. If you are interested in joining our Lodge, whether you are British, Italian or any other nationality please send a message with your contact details and we will arrange to have an informal friendly chat to give you some further information and answer any questions. We welcome new members from all walks of life, races, religions, cultures, and we have no political or religious affiliations.

A few Brethren of the Britalia Garibaldi Lodge attended the Remembrance Service today at Brookwood Cemetery near Woking.

Wreaths were laid and the priest blessed the graves of fallen Italian soldiers from the Second World War. The Italian Ambassador for the UK and the Italian Consul from London as well as military representatives of the Army, Navy and Airforce flew over from Italy to lay wreaths.

Brookwood Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the UK and was established in 1852 by the London Necropolis Company.
A Grade I listed park and garden, this unique cemetery in the heart of Surrey, continues to serve as a resting place for people of all faiths and none and is open daily for visitors to explore.

We had 36 members and guests at our festive board last night and were very grateful for everyone who donated a raffle and brought a raffle ticket. We collected a fantastic total of £290.00. The money will be donated to Pay it Forward Community Outreach Project, a local community charity who help feed and support the homeless and people in need in Bedford.

We had one of the most important Ceremonies in Freemasonry at our Lodge meeting last night. The initiation of a Lewis. This is where a Father performs the ceremony to initiate his son into Freemasonry and our Lodge.

The Festive Board was also the usual fun with live music by W Bro Ben DiGirolamo on the Piano Accordion and great food - Parmigiana, Spaghetti alle Vongole & Profiteroles, fresh Italian sourdough bread, vino & espresso with a giant Cantucci & chocolates & Garibaldi biscuits.

Giuseppe has achieved his second post within three weeks. This time, a school in Genzano, Rome. Well done! However, it’s a pity that you forgot to carry out the all important pointed finger at the sign - You would have won £100!

We recently received a very nice letter of thanks from Magpas for our WM Fulvio Crusco and his wife Sandra Crusco’s Lodge charity donation of £10,000 to this amazing charity.

Rob is in Naples and is showing some commitment to our finger pointing tradition. Rob decided not to drive around Naples (who can blame him) but parked it in a garage instead. Hope the car is still there and with all four wheels! 😉

Giuseppe has outdone his finger pointing predecessors by finding two signs on the same day, one in Campobasso and another in Petrella Tifernina. His left forefinger is now tired so he will have to use his other hand to hold his drink. What about the lady in the window, Giuseppe? are you even in Italy? 😉

The Brethren of Britalia Garibaldi Lodge No 10020 would like to wish all the Founding Members, Brethren and the Primus Master, W Brother Sy Cole a very happy and successful 'Parade' on the Consecration of the new Bedfordshire Military Lodge No 10075, which includes Brethren from The Royal Navy, The British Army, The Royal Air Force and The Royal Marines.

Today is also a proud and momentous day for everyone from Britalia Garibaldi Lodge as the sponsoring Lodge.
