Today we had 18 walk and clear volunteers on duty.
The task today was to cut the very badly overgrown path running from near the Horse and Jockey pub in Twyn yr Odyn up to The Downs - over half a mile in length.
Teams started from both ends of the path and with a mixture of strimmers, shears, loppers and rakes have completed a fantastic clearance.
The path is now safe to walk and enjoy.
Many thanks to the Horse and Jockey for the use of the car park and to all the volunteers for the great efforts today.

Today's Valeways walk headed north of the town. Our first suprise was encountering people at the top of the windmill. From there we walked along quiet lanes to Llanmaes encountering a hairy caterpillar, chickens and horses. Thanks to all who joined us.

12 intrepid walkers including a new walker met at Radyr station to follow the Cambrian Way to Cardiff castle taking in the industrial history and nature of the river Taff as well as a visit to the magnificent Llandaff cathedral. Most of the damp walkers stayed for lunch before returning by train to a warm fire at home . Thanks to Paul and Paul for leading and back marking.

This morning there were 20 walk and clear volunteers on duty across 2 sites.
8 were at Llampha to complete the clearance of the long green lane that was badly overgrown. They then moved on to the network of paths east and west of the lane. Stiles, gates and waymarker posts were all cleared.
The other 12 were at the footpaths on the coast between Hayes Road car park and the Bendricks.
Three fallen trees were cleared after extensive sawing and a badly overgrown section was cut back.
Many thanks to everyone for their hard work today.
