☀️summer holidays are almost here☀️

As the summer holidays are fast approaching, many families in our community will face extra pressure providing meals for kids that normally receive support during term time.

If you could help us with donations to keep our shelves stocked in preparation ahead of the summer holidays🌻

Donations of non-perishables such as:

🥫tinned meats,vegetables,fruits and soups
🍝pasta,rice and noodles
🥘pasta and curry sauce
🥛long life milk and diluting juice
🥣cereals
🍪snacks like crisps and biscuits
🧼toiletries like soap,shower gel and shampoo

Every donation big or small helps us support families over the school break ☀️

☀️ SUMMER HOLIDAY APPEAL ☀️

While our team and volunteers continue to support those affected by the Coalsnaughton evacuation, our regular foodbank service remains open and continues to support local individuals and families facing hardship.

With the summer holidays fast approaching, we are now preparing for the increased demand that comes when children are no longer receiving school meals.

We want to make sure that no child in our community goes hungry this summer, but we need your help to build up our food stocks before the holidays begin.

Did you know that just £5 can provide breakfast for a child for up to two weeks?

We are particularly in need of:

🥛 UHT Milk
🥤 Milkshakes and flavoured milk drinks
🧃 Diluting juice
🍪 Children's snacks and lunchbox items
🥣 Cereal
🍝 Pasta and rice
🥫 Tinned meals and vegetables
🍎 Healthy snacks and fruit pots
🧼 Washing powder and laundry detergent
🧴 Toiletries and personal hygiene products
🧻 Toilet roll

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us provide food and support to families when they need it most.

This appeal is separate from the Coalsnaughton Evacuee Appeal and will help us support local families and children through the summer holidays.

If you would like to help, donations can be dropped off at our hub during opening hours. Financial donations are also greatly appreciated and help us purchase essential items when stocks run low.

💙 Coalsnaughton Evacuee Appeal 💙

We have been asked by the council to help coordinate donations for those affected by the evacuation in Coalsnaughton, and we would be extremely grateful for your support.

Please ensure that all donated items are placed in a bag and clearly marked "Coalsnaughton Appeal" so that we can identify and distribute them quickly.

At the moment, we are particularly looking for:

🛒 Easy-to-microwave meals and food items
🥫 Tinned foods and long-life groceries
🧼 Cleaning products (washing-up liquid, surface cleaner, cloths, etc.)
🧻 Toiletries and personal care items
🧽 Household essentials

Donations can be dropped off at The Gate, 2 Ludgate, Monday to Friday, between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

As needs become clearer, we will update this list.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the family and friends of Lena Stirling for choosing to support our food bank through the funeral collection held in their memory.

We are deeply saddened by your loss and we send our heartfelt condolences to everyone who knew and loved them. Your kindness and generosity during such a difficult time is truly appreciated, and the donation made in Lena’s memory will help our work supporting others in the community.

🚨Carrier bags urgently needed🚨

We use carrier bags to pack out food parcels for our families so we are always in need of more!

If you have any spare carrier bags, we would be very grateful for them. Every bag helps us continue supporting the families in our community🛍️

Being a food bank you hear us ask for food donations mostly but we also give out toiletries in our parcels 🧻

We are currently in need of certain toiletries if you’d like to donate some hygiene essentials for the families we support 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Items such as:
Shampoo🧴
Shower gel🚿
Soap🧼
Toilet roll 🧻

These every day essentials can make a massive difference for someone going through a difficult time.

If you’re able to donate we have collection points at Asda and Lidl or you can bring it directly to us at 2 Ludgate, Alloa, FK10 2DR. 📍

A huge THANK YOU!🎉🎉 to everyone who participated in our recent food drive at Asda

Because of your generosity we raised 445KG of food to help support the families in our community. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

We are incredibly grateful to Asda for allowing it to put on the food drive, our volunteers that helped us run the stall and of course a massive thank you to all who donated 💙

We need your help community 💙

Our food bank is running low on carrier bags which are vital for packing our food parcels in- without them it becomes harder to support our families.

If you have spare carrier bags at home(bags for life, strong bags) we would be extremely grateful🛍️

We will be closed on bank holiday Monday but open the as normal after 😁

We are seeing alot of demand for our services as we navigate another rocky period.
