📣Nominations Deadline Extended!📣

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted nominations for this year’s Inspire Volunteering Awards. We’ve received some fantastic entries celebrating the volunteers who make such a difference across Stirling.

To allow a little more time for organisations and community groups to put forward their nominations, we have decided to extend the deadline.

📆 Nominations will now close on Monday 16th March at 9:00am.

🏆If you were planning to nominate someone but haven’t quite had the chance yet, there is still time to recognise the individuals and groups who go above and beyond for their communities!

👉Find full nomination information and the nomination form on our website: https://www.sventerprise.org.uk/inspirevolunteeringawards26/

As we reach International Women’s Day, the final organisation I am highlighting this week is one born out of lived experience.

Scots Recovery from Childhood Abuse (SRFCA) was founded by Scott, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and sibling addiction abuse. After beginning his own recovery journey, Scott realised something deeply unfair: survivors are often told “it wasn’t your fault” — but are then left to navigate recovery alone, facing many barriers such as high costs or having to travel far from home to access meaningful support.

In just 18 months, the charity has supported more than 250 people through one-to-one therapy alone, with women and girls making up the vast majority of those seeking help.

Below are Scott's reflections on why accessible recovery support is essential in tackling inequality. Huge thanks to him and his brilliant team ⬇️
