🌟 Pre-Employability Tip: “Show Up Like You Already Have the Job”

First impressions matter — even before you’re hired.

When attending training, workshops, or interviews, act the way you would in a real job:

* ⏰ Be on time (or early)
* 👀 Stay engaged (eye contact, listen actively)
* 🗣️ Communicate clearly and respectfully
* 📵 Limit distractions (phones away when possible)
* 🤝 Be positive and willing to learn

Employers don’t just look for experience — they look for attitude, reliability, and effort.

👉 Tip to remember:
“Skills can be taught, but attitude is what gets you hired.”

We’ve been running our Confident Choices – Creative Futures course for young people aged 16–25, and it’s been amazing to see their confidence grow week by week 💫

In this video, you’ll see two of our young people taking part in an interview with their key worker who has been supporting them throughout the journey. It’s a great example of the progress they’ve made — building communication skills, self-belief, and stepping outside their comfort zone 👏

We’re so proud of every single person involved. Their courage, creativity, and willingness to try something new is what this course is all about 💛

💼✨ Positive Moves – Employability Tip of the Week ✨💼

Did you know? 👀
Employers often decide within the first few minutes whether a candidate feels like the right fit.

🔑 Tip: Prepare a strong introduction about yourself.

Practice answering:
👉 “Tell me about yourself.”

Keep it simple:
• Who you are
• Your key skills or experience
• What you’re looking for

Example:
“I’m a reliable and hardworking individual with experience in customer service. I enjoy working as part of a team and I’m currently looking for an opportunity where I can grow and develop my skills.”

Confidence comes from preparation 💪

If you’d like support with CVs, interview skills or building your confidence, Positive Moves is here to help.
