Looking after someone with dementia can be daunting - and most family carers have little or no experience of dementia before taking on the role. All too often they feel they have to work things out as they go along.

If you are - or have been - an unpaid carer for a loved one with dementia, what advice would you give someone at the beginning of that journey?

Do remember that our team of expert and friendly Dementia Advisers are on hand to support you as a family or unpaid carer. Do get in touch on our Support Line 01865 410210.

Helping you to live better with dementia is a huge part of the work we do at Dementia Oxfordshire - from supporting you to explore new hobbies and activities to keeping you socially connected.

This article in yesterday's The Guardian explains brilliantly why that is so important.

To find out more about how we can help, take a look at our website or call our Support Line on 01865 410210.

It's and we'd like to say a huge thank you to volunteers Dave Rees (pictured below) and Sue Roe who took on the enormous job of consolidating and editing the song sheets we use at our popular Singing at the Amp session every fortnight.

We now have all 83 songs reformatted in an easy to read font - with wonderfully researched introductions - all able to go into a single folder. Thank you so much for your hours of hard work. It is very much appreciated!

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who support our work across the county. You make a real difference!
