Don't miss our next Understanding Dementia for Informal Carers information session on Tuesday 10th November at Oaken Holt Care Home near Cumnor.

The two hour session will cover a range of topics, including financial advice, ideas about local groups and activities, as well as exploring strategies to deal with changing behaviours.

We know that becoming a carer for someone living with dementia can be challenging. As well as providing a named Dementia Adviser for everyone with a diagnosis of dementia living at home in Oxfordshire, we also run free information sessions around the county and online.

Our next in-person session for carers is at Oaken Holt Care Home, near Cumnor, on Tuesday 10th November . You can find out more and book your place using the Eventbrite link below.

We were absolutely delighted to welcome over seventy guests to our Family Jazz Tea Dance in yesterday!

Many of our clients came along, as well as young famlies and local residents. All were treated to an afternoon tea, some wonderful live music, great company, and fabulous dancing! Many also took the opportunity to find out more about how to keep your brain healthy by flicking through our new guide to brain health while they enjoyed a scone or two!

Our first couple to dance were celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary, and many more soon joined in. "I haven't seen my wife smile like this - ever!" commented one guest as he came to say thank you at the end of the afternoon.

Yesterday at our quarterly team day, we welcomed three speakers who focussed on research into treatments for dementia.

Their insightful presentations helped explain why progress has seemed so slow, and how there is now real hope of new treatments becoming available in the not too distant future.

Our next session for carers - Understanding Dementia for Informal Carers - is on Tuesday 10th November at Oaken Holt Care Home, just west of Oxford.

We were beyond excited to head up to Launton last week to accept a cheque for an incredible £10.110.85 from the Jay Lapper Memorial Fund!

A huge thanks to Mel Lapper (pictured centre), who along with her brother Martin, and Dave and the team from the Launton Sports and Social Club organised another amazing fundraising day in memory of their late brother Jay Lapper this summer.

Our local Dementia Adviser Pip Speed has been supporting their father Ron for the past three years and is pictured on the right.

The money will go towards helping to support people living with dementia in Oxfordshire.

Thank you so much for all your hard work! It is hugely appreciated.
