Aberdeen’s first free, outdoor sensory playpark is now complete! 🎉

We launched this project with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive space where young people with sensory needs can enjoy their right to play.

The playpark's completion represents the successful close of Phase One of our Building Futures, Transforming Lives appeal.

Through our fundraising appeal, which has been so generously supported by local businesses and individuals, we are working to expand our capacity and enhance our facilities across Camphill School Aberdeen’s three estates.

The playpark was designed in collaboration with the pupils, ensuring it truly reflects their needs and stimulates their sensory experiences.

It will initially be open to a number of charities and support groups, with a public booking platform being trialled later this year.

A huge well done to the team at Camphill School Aberdeen who have raised over £2,000 through their Kiltwalk fundraiser, raising more than the previous two years combined!

Kick off! ⚽

Footie fever has hit Camphill School Aberdeen and to mark the start of the World Cup, the young people took to the pitch for their own match.
It was a fun afternoon with a competitive but good-natured spirit in the air!

We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed some well-deserved ice cream afterwards. It was a great effort from everyone involved!

What a massive effort from our Camphill School Aberdeen Kiltwalk team, who successfully completed the 18-mile challenge with smiles and sore legs!

A huge congratulations to residential students Harris, Seth, Grace, Andrew, Brandon, Daniel, David, Oscar, Ava, and Wilf, and the staff and families.

Thank you to everyone who donated, the team managed to raise over £1,800! This money will go towards ensuring that we continue to transform the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities and complex additional support needs.

Best of luck to all of our bold Camphillers who are out in force this weekend raising money for CSA and others.

Dianne Mathieson is aiming to complete all four Scottish Kiltwalks in aid of Murtle Market and will be on the Aberdeen route tomorrow.

More than 24 staff, volunteers and young people will also be taking on the challenge.

Elsewhere, Nico is tackling the coast to coast cycle challenge in aid of AFC Community Trust.

Good luck everyone!

Diane Mathieson has already completed the Glasgow Kiltwalk and is now preparing for the Aberdeen event before tackling both Dundee and Edinburgh later this year.

We want to give a huge shoutout to Diane Mathieson, our Management Accountant, who is taking on all four Kiltwalks in aid of Camphill School Aberdeen!

Diane has already completed the Glasgow walk and is now preparing for the Aberdeen walk this weekend. All money raised will go towards the cost of equipment to wash, dry, and pack produce grown in our garden before being sold at Murtle Market.

The time is ticking, and the big day of Kiltwalk Aberdeen is coming!

was created 2 years ago, and there was only 4 of us- we raised over £800. Last year we grew bigger, there was 10 of us and we raised over £1000.

This year on Sunday the 7th of June, there will be 27 of us walking for Camphill School Aberdeen.

Andrew, Ava, Brandon, Daniel, David, Grace, Harris, Oscar, Seth and Wilf with their families and support workers are up for the challenge!

We’ve been celebrating Whitsun at Camphill School Aberdeen!

Whitsun is a festival of peace, unity, and human individuality, where communities gather and share stories and food from different cultures.

Young people and staff came together to enjoy a selection of international snacks, sharing food, conversation and time with one another. It was a simple but meaningful way to mark the holiday and celebrate different cultures within our community.

Festivals are an important part of life here at Camphill. Not only does it help the young people determine the seasons, it also reminds us of our core values which are connection, inclusion, and enjoying time together as a community.

It’s fantastic to be re-accredited by the National Autistic Society!

We’re proud to have held this accreditation for over 20 years, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing person-centred care and support for the young people.

The committee stated:
“Individuals were well supported to express their views, feelings, and wants through a wide range of personalised communication tools.

Case studies highlight initiatives that provide structured, purposeful work experiences, promoting independence, confidence, and community engagement.”
