Shedd Befriending Service We are a Befriending Service for older people located in Aberdeen, Scotland. local community groups. Provide short term practical support e.g.

Studies have shown that social isolation and loneliness is a real health issue amongst the older people of our community. Our befriending service is an attempt to address this through the following:
Provide a minimum of one hour personal contact each fortnight
Help to individuals to maintain hobbies and interests e.g. with shopping and cleaning. Provide volunteers to accompany individuals to appoi

ntments. Provide individuals with information on who to contact for help with health and diet, specialist services and health checks.
