Across Asia and the Pacific, young women are navigating conflict, violence, the climate crisis and the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 โ while continuing to lead change in their communities.
Our new ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐๐ฉ! ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ brings together the voices and experiences of ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ง ๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ to understand what leadership looks like in the face of these challenges.
The research shows that crises are increasing young womenโs vulnerability to violence, disrupting access to education and healthcare, restricting their movement, and leaving them out of decisions that directly affect their lives and recovery.
But it also shows the power of young womenโs leadership. โ๐ฝ
๐ฌ Creating safe spaces
๐ค Building feminist networks
๐ฃ Speaking up and advocating for change
๐งก Supporting one another through crisis
And young women didnโt simply contribute their stories to this research. They helped shape it.
As members of the advisory committee, young women leaders from across the regions guided the research at every stage.
