The WPA is proud to support the Windsor Ride For Dad Canada in support of the fight against prostate cancer. 🏍️💙

Since 2005, the Windsor chapter has raised more than $1.1 million to fund groundbreaking prostate cancer research and life-saving awareness campaigns right here in our community. Proceeds from the event support the important work of the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation and help promote early detection and education.

Ride for Dad is more than just a motorcycle ride, it’s a chance to come together, honour loved ones, support families affected by prostate cancer, and help save lives.

Whether you ride, volunteer, sponsor a participant, or make a donation, every contribution makes a difference.

Today, we celebrate and honour all mothers and mother figures for the love, strength, compassion, and support they provide each and every day.

We would like to extend a special shout out to our sworn and civilian mothers whose dedication to both their families and their profession never goes unnoticed. Your commitment, resilience, and sacrifice help keep our community strong, both at work and at home.

And to those mothers who are working today to keep our community safe, spending time away from their families, thank you for your continued service and dedication. Your efforts are deeply appreciated.

Wishing all mothers a safe, happy, and meaningful Mother’s Day.

Today marks 20 years since Constable John Atkinson made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

On behalf of the Windsor Police Association, we pause to honour his life, his service, and his unwavering commitment to the community he proudly served. John was more than a colleague, he was a friend, a teammate, and a dedicated officer who exemplified courage, integrity, and compassion in everything he did.

As we reflect on this anniversary, we remember not only the sacrifice he made, but the life he lived and the impact he had on those around him. We stand with his family, friends, and all who continue to carry his memory, recognizing that their loss is one shared by our entire policing community.

John’s legacy lives on in the values he stood for and in those who continue to serve with the same dedication and pride.

Always remembered. Never forgotten.

Today, members of the Windsor Police Association had the honour of attending the 27th Annual Ontario Police Memorial Foundation Ceremony of Remembrance at Queen’s Park.

This meaningful ceremony brings police associations, services, families, and communities together to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

As we stood in remembrance alongside our policing partners from across Ontario, we also reflected on one of our own, Cst. John Atkinson, who was killed in the line of duty 20 years ago on May 5, 2006.

As we gathered in reflection, we were reminded that service comes with profound responsibility and sacrifice. Today, we honoured those who gave everything in the line of duty, and we reaffirm our commitment to never forget.

It is with great sadness that the Ontario Provincial Police Association confirms the line of duty death of Sergeant Brandon Malcolm, Northumberland Detachment, Central Region, who died on duty in Cobourg.

We thank Members for their patience as this information was withheld to ensure Sergeant Malcolm’s family was notified appropriately, in coordination with policing partners.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues, and with Members across the province who share in this loss.
