Waterloo Wayside supports and builds community by providing safe places and opportunities to share and connect.

The Waterloo Wayside Centre is a group of people focused on creating and supporting community where it would otherwise not exist. Born out of our deep desire to help one another, the Waterloo Wayside Centre serves the youth, the senior population, and the marginalized in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Hosted at Emmanuel United Church, located in the heart of Uptown Waterloo, the centre offers a variety of programs to help the bodies, hearts and minds of those that need it the most. Through partnerships with other community-based organizations and a dedicated team of volunteers, the Waterloo Wayside Centre is able to host and foster grass-roots programs that address real needs within the community. As a testimony to the impact of the centre and the restorative nature of its programs, many of our volunteers joined our ranks after starting off as clients.

Making Math Fun with Waterloo Wayside!

Waterloo Wayside is excited to launch our FREE After-School JUMP Math Program & Cooking Club for students in Grades 7 & 8!

The program combines structured JUMP Math tutoring, homework support, community mentorship, and hands-on cooking activities to help students strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and learn practical life skills.

Stop by anytime during the open house to see the space, learn more about the program, meet the team, and ask questions!

Completely free of charge — materials, food, and equipment are provided!

What an amazing day for our 6th annual Ride for Wayside! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to ride, walk, volunteer, donate, and support Waterloo Wayside.

Together, we raised over $4,000 to support Wayside’s work building community and creating meaningful connections in downtown Waterloo!

We’re so grateful to all of our organizers, team leaders, volunteers, riders, walkers, and donors who helped make this year’s event such a success. A special shoutout to the Alpha Omicron Pi team for coming out and joining the walking route!

Thank you for another incredible Ride for Wayside, we can’t wait to do it all again in 2027!

We're looking to hire an Instructional Lead for our JUMP Math After-School Program that will be re-starting this October 📚 This position will be 3.5 hours/week on-site at 22 Bridgeport Rd W., Waterloo. On Saturday, September 12th the annual Ride for Wayside fundraiser will be held 🚴‍♀️

Our bike teams will ride a 25km loop starting in Iron Horse Trail or a 5km loop through Ring Road. There are many ways to join and support us for this event:

This years Waterloo State of the City was one of our most successful events ever. We were so pleased to present the recipient with a cheque yesterday in the amount of $30098.77
These funds will go a long way to helping those in our community in need.
