Father's Day can get us thinking about the men who shaped us.

This year, we're also thinking about the men who are actively choosing change.

Through our Engaging Men Program, more than 125 men are learning new ways to be better for their family, challenge harmful beliefs, and take accountability for the harm they’ve caused.

Because the truth is, most men want to do better, they just don’t know where to turn to.

Here's a preview of We Need More Men, a documentary exploring the role men can play in creating safer communities.

Behind every donation is a person who is making a difference.

These donor spotlights reminded us just how incredible this community is.

Whether it's through a donation, attending an event or having conversations that raise awareness, every person plays a role in helping create safer futures for women and children in our community.

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand alongside survivors and support this work.

We truly couldn't do it without you 💜

While many people experience major sporting events as a time of celebration, others know that this can be a risky time.

International research has found that reports of domestic violence increase during major sporting events. This shows how moments of heightened emotion, alcohol use and social stress can create greater risk for those experiencing abuse.

It's an uncomfortable reality, but one worth talking about to be prepared.

As we gather with friends, family and community, let's also remember the importance of looking out for one another and creating spaces where people feel safe to reach out for support.

Prevention isn’t a single program or conversation.
It’s the ongoing work of building stronger communities through a variety of avenues.

From outreach and youth education to engaging men and community awareness, prevention happens every day in ways that often go unseen.

And that’s exactly why it matters.

Indigenous History Month can be framed as a time to learn about the past.

But it is also a time to reflect on the present.

To consider how colonialism continues to impact communities today.

To learn from Indigenous voices and teachings.

And to think about what it means to be a good neighbour to the land and to one another.

We invite you to join us this month to take the time to learn and listen 🧡

As the school year comes to an end, we're reflecting on the moments that help build brighter futures.

The field trips. The classroom conversations. The games, crafts, lessons and laughter. The opportunities for children and youth to learn about healthy relationships, build confidence and have fun!

Behind each of these moments are staff who show up every day.

To our Youth Education and Child & Youth teams, thank you for helping children and youth feel supported and empowered. The work you do today keeps families safe today and prevents violence by building up the children of our future.

Here's a look back at some of this year's highlights 👀 💜

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their relationships and communities.

Yet myths about who experiences abuse and what abuse looks like can make it harder for some survivors to reach out for help. When misconceptions about groups of people go unquestioned, harm within that community still occurs and is still felt.

This Pride Month, we're reflecting on the importance of creating spaces where people feel supported when they need it most.

Because safety starts with being able to show up as your full self.

Happy Pride Month!

Pride is a celebration, but it is also a reminder of the importance of building communities where everyone feels safe and free to be themselves.

We all have a role to play in creating spaces rooted in respect
