On May 14, 2026, the group got together at our new shop home to build Robin bird platform houses. It was. beautiful day and we were able to work together to put together a dozen houses, with components left over for another eight. We will have these for sale at our table at the Victoria West Community Centre during Vic West Fest on June 6th.

On Thursday, March 26, 2025 we met at a member's home to build 30 mason bee houses. These will be offered for sale at the Esquimalt Farmers' Market on Thursday, April 2, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm. Nine members showed up and the production line made short work of cutting and assembly. Two of these photos show a finished house in place and already loaded with a number of bees.

Over the past few months, we have alternated between Thursday afternoons and evenings to provide ann opportunity for men whose schedules don't allow them to attend during the day. As of January, 2026, we haven't had a good response to this pattern of meetings. Considering this outcome, we've decided to go back to regular Thursday afternoons only. If you are interested in a regular evening meeting, please let us know by dropping a line to [email protected].

On December 18-20, KMS Tools hosted a free barbeque at their store in Victoria, with donations going to the Esquimalt Men's Shed. Members of the EMS provided staff for the barbeque and were able to talk about our organization to many of the people who passed by. Even with the heavy rains and wind, it was a wonderful three days.

We now have two different methods for you to donate to our group so we can continue to help men and our community to flourish.

You can send an e-transfer through your bank to [email protected] or through our donation platform, Zeffy. One hundred percent of every donation through either platform will go toward furthering our mission.

Please be aware, however, that while we are a registered non-profit in BC, we are not a charity and cannot issue tax receipts for your donation.

We recently had a visit from BC Men’s Shed President Jan Fennema. Doug McLeod, John McWilliams, Mark Pocock, and Michael Bosela showed him the new Mutual Aid community pantry.
