Registration for Salish Sea Safari (2026-2027 school year) will open Monday August 31st at 11:00am PST! 🎉

For the 2026-2027 school year, Salish Sea Safari will be changing to a five week program!

Each week, a Seaquarist will visit your classroom to explore a different group of animals through careful observation and interaction. By the end of the program, students will have learned about 5 different marine phyla (Porifera; Cnidaria; Echinodermata; Mollusca; and Arthropoda) local to the Salish Sea! 🦀

🦀Summer Camp Registration Open NOW!🦀

Looking for an interactive, hands-on, and fun ocean science camp this August? Look no further! At Sensational Seas, campers will learn from our animal ambassadors, play games, meet friends, and create ocean-themed artwork! 🎨🐟🎲

Thanks to our funders and supporters, we are pleased to announce that we can offer a special rate of $295 for the entire week, per camper!

Thanks to Canada Summer Jobs, we are recruiting a Social Media Specialist to collect content at Seaquaria programs and events, manage our websites and social media platforms, and launch online campaigns.

7 weeks | 40 hours per week | $18.25/hr

SMUS Junior School once again invited us into their classroom to help launch their Grade 4 Ocean Science Unit! 🌊🤩

To start off this unit, each student chose a local marine animal to research alongside different ocean threats that might be affecting them. Then, for their main projects, each student recorded a podcast highlighting their research and created laser cut pins in the shape of their marine animal. 🦀🐋

On Sunday May 31st, the grade 4’s joined us at the World Ocean Day Celebration at Fisherman’s Wharf to engage and educate the public about their research, all while collecting donations for their beautiful pins! Over the course of the day, they raised $1019.86!!!! 🎉🙌🏼

That is a huge accomplishment and we are so grateful to be the recipients of their hard-work! Thanks to their enthusiasm and dedication, their donation will help go towards maintaining our local school programs and will allow us to continue to spread sustainable education throughout the community. ✏️🌎

As Ocean Week Victoria comes to an end, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has participated or contributed to this wonderful volunteer initiative. 🩵

Today marks the last day of Ocean Week Victoria! What better way than to celebrate World Ocean Day! This day creates space for people all over the world to join together to love, honour, protect, and advocate for the ocean! 🌊

However you are celebrating today, thank you for supporting the ocean that continuously supports us. 🌎🫶🏼
