What an incredible BGC Club Day on June 5!

Across BGC South Vancouver Island, children, youth, staff, and community supporters came together to celebrate what makes our organization so special. While we serve communities across the region, BGC Club Day reminded us that we are all part of One Club.

This year's Opportunity Changes Everything canvas project beautifully captures that message. Each Club and program coloured and signed their own section of a larger canvas. Individually, each piece reflects the unique spirit of that location. Together, the pieces come together to create one complete work of art—a powerful representation that while we have many locations, we are united by one mission, one purpose - we are one Club.

A special thank you to all of the community leaders and special guests who stopped by our Clubs to say hello, participate in the celebrations, and make the day extra special for our children and youth. Your support helps young people feel seen, valued, and connected to the communities around them.

We are so excited to see the finished canvas come together and showcase the creativity, pride, and connection that exists across BGC South Vancouver Island.

Confidence. Communication. Connection.

Youth participating in BGC South Vancouver Island's Respect2Connect program are building the skills they need to create healthy relationships, navigate challenges, and strengthen their sense of self.

Through engaging activities, meaningful conversations, and peer connection, participants explore topics such as respect, empathy, communication, boundaries, and decision-making in a safe and supportive environment. These skills help young people build stronger relationships with friends, family, classmates, and their community.

Programs like Respect2Connect empower youth to recognize their strengths, develop resilience, and make positive choices that support their wellbeing now and into the future.

We're proud of every young person who shows up, shares their voice, and takes part in building a more respectful and connected community.

A huge thank you to Carter's Westshore and Carter's Hillside for hosting in-store food drives in support of children and youth participating in BGC South Vancouver Island programs!

Thanks to the generosity of their customers, staff, and community members, these food drives helped provide much-needed support to local families and young people.

We are grateful for community partners like Carter's who continue to invest in the wellbeing of children, youth, and families across our region. Together, we are helping ensure young people have access to the support they need to thrive.

Youth ages 11–15 are invited to join us for a summer filled with connection, creativity, learning, and fun through themed days focused on cooking, music, STEM, art, team building, social-emotional skill development, and media literacy. Youth will engage in interactive experiences that promote curiosity, confidence, and collaboration! 💚
